Probably not that then.
Do you have the following section in iGo\sys.txt? (May be a slightly different file with yours being a WinCE unit, not sure) Code:
[warning] |
Quote:
Hi if I click sys text it brings this up.Jubbs has sent for a new card so I'll see if that cures it. Does your map screen automatically switch to night mode in the evening? That is another issue I am having.I select automatic in the settings and when you exit that screen it reverts to either day or night mode,it won't hold the automatic setting.I see auto night mode is mentioned below.Could it be to do with the value 0? erface] skin="ui_igo8" vga=0 mapfontscale=100 show_exit=1 [rawdisplay] class="landscape" highres=0 screen_x=800 screen_y=480 [tts] tts_buffer=131072 tts_logics=3 priority="HIGH" always_say_road_names=1 announce_street_name=1 expected_engine_delay=1400 [debug] skip_eula=1 enable_roadshadow=1 [map] auto_nightmode=0 [msnd] msnd.start=0 |
It wouldn't be so bad if you could turn the warning off, it drives me mad at time.

You seem to be missing a lot of settings there. I would copy & paste my snippet into the end of your sys.txt and see if that helps. I would also change auto_nightmode=0 to =1 and see if that cures the switching problem. Hopefully the new card will sort you out, but useful to try this anyway just in case it doesn't. |

Hi I'll try the new card first when it arrives and see if it cures the problems. Then I will try your suggestions on the current card and let you know what hapens.I think you are right about changing that value. Thanks very much for all of your help and I'll post up my progress :} |

I'm pleased to report that these issues have now been resolved by purchasing a new iGO 8 navigation card with the latest Q4 2018 maps. On examination of the old card, in a reader, the maps were found to be 2016,not 2018 as I had previously thought. All the functions on the new card work exaxtly as they should including the speed camera database and the automatic setting for changing the map screen between night/day.The information on these latest maps has been increased and the street names now elevate as you approach.I'm very pleased with the freshened up graphics too. :} Quote:
You can turn them off in iGO. |
Where did your purchase your IGO 8 on a card?
There seems to be a few listed on the bay but not sure which one to choose. |

It was from the German seller I mentioned in post #2 on your software thread. As mentioned though,iGO 8 it is not suitable for Android units. From what I understand you will need iGO primo nextgen. |
The new card is still working very well generally, however I did encounter an issue last weekend while travelling south on the M1.From around junction 23 onwards an indicator of a speed limit of 50mph came up along with the annoying cackling because I was doing over 50mph.There was no such speed limit in force, the national speed limit applied. Now for most of last year there was camera monitored temporary 50mph speed limit on that section of the M1 and many miles beyond due to road works, but they have now gone. The new card is Q4 2018,so I'm assuming it was added to the card as a permanent speed limit.
My question is can this paticular speed camera location be deleted because this racket went on for many many miles . I found I was able to cancel it by going into settings and temporarily turning off camera and audible alerts, then back on again.I encountered the same problem when travelling back the other way later in the day. |
Sadly as far as I know you can't manually edit speedcam locations that are included with map sets.
Only thing I can suggest is to try 2019 Q1 when this comes out (not sure when that will be) and see if it's been removed. |
