Greenwash is not the driver of sound research and development, but irrespective of the trend toward EV technology there needs to be thought put into the design of motor vehicles, and not to populist soundbites.

The reality is many people see a car as just another appliance, and those of that mindset won't be resisting the steamroller introduction of EV.

It's a shame as a phased introduction would have made more sense, and certainly allowed for improvements in technology to progress at a sensible pace.

I see Ford Europe have joined Jaguar & just announced they will only sell fully electric cars by 2030 with their first BEV rolling out of the Cologne factory in Germany using VW's MEB skateboard platform in 2023. https://todaynewspost.com/auto-news/...urope-by-2030/

The new elite will be those who can afford a new EV. And how many do you think that will be? You don’t think it is a ruse to get the traffic down and of the road?Where are they going to get the money from to repair the extra potholes that appear with the extra weight of these EVs? Birmingham must have some of the worst main roads in the country at this moment. Section 56 notices should be made against the council to make them repair the roads not potholes.

Going to be awfully expensive I’d imagine

Maybe they should open a cheaper range to target more markets which still offers the quality...with a Rover badge on

TATA who own Jaguar also own the Rover marque remember.
