502 Bad Gateway.

I'm getting this message when browsing the forum on my phone when trying to open certain threads,but not all.I've had the problem in the past but it seemed to resolve itself.
It seems to have started again since the forum was down for maintainance about a week ago,so I'm assuming the two are connected.I would say it's affecting about 50% of threads at any one time.The strange thing is I'm able to open certain threads at one point but when I try later I get the error message 502 Bad Gateway. Any ideas how to resolve it please?

This has been happening to me too.
I found it was because I was being logged out.
Signing in again, with user name and password, seems to fix it.

I regularly get it - sometimes repairs itself quickly (30 mins), sometimes a long time (up to half a day)

It is the ONLY website I use where this happens. Very frustrating.

I tend to browse the forum without logging in Bob unless I'm intending to post.I've also found that I get the problem when I'm not logged in.The strange thing is though it's random and doesn't affect every thread.
Also if I later try opening threads that previousy had an error message most will then open :shrug:

This is happening only when browsing on a mobile device?

Just with my phone for me but having said that I use that much more than the desk top.

Pete 18th January 2021 05:17

Okay, we'll have a root around. Thanks for flagging this up. :}

VVC-Geeza 18th January 2021 19:21

I can be more specific now.No problems with the desk top or on the phone when logged in.
Only get the error message when browsing using the phone and not logged in.Can quite easily solve it now by logging in on phone :}

I log on every time, so it won't solve it for me.

Hello Pete,

The forum was giving the "database error" all day yesterday from early morning to late evening. I can confirm that this appeared on both my mobile device and my laptop.

I hope that this is helpful.

My experience also.:shrug:

Also keeps saying that the powers that be are aware of it - doesn't seem to make much difference!

Christopher posted several times late last night Malcolm after he'd identified some corruption and dealt with it.
