What bits should I keep from a CDTI tourer?

So sadly my cdti was uneconomic to repair after a suspension failure and crash I have replaced it with an near identical car :)

I have started putting all the best bits on the new car.

What other small bits do you think are worth keeping?

So far I have some new ABS sensors rear shocks and exhaust and new engine mounts.

I was going to keep injectors engine management 2 keys immobilizer gear box ECUs and ignition lock, rear glass as I understand these are difficult to get.

unfortunately I cannot store the whole car its almost guaranteed i will need some part I have scrapped.

What about intercooler battery tray AC condenser

trikey 18th July 2019 10:10

Bottom pulley
Maf sensor
Injectors
HP pump
Alternator

Tourist 18th July 2019 10:37

In Tank Pump
Handbrake Compensator
Couple of door lock actuators
FBH + Pump (if fitted)
Headlights (if in good condition)
Undertray fixings

If it's JFM and in good condition, I'd be happy if you kept both OS doors and the bonnet ;)

The fuel cooler generally stay in good shape, but the valve body (Plastic gubbinz) which has a good few pipes on it has a habit of fracturing as it is held to its bracket with metal corroding bolts, when they corrode enough they expand the plastic body and it fractures eventually. this then leaves fuel laying about usually when the system cools down. Also MOT issue when it goes wrong !

If the paint is good I'd be interested in the bonnet, my facelift has terrible lacquer peel. I'll get in line behind spongeh.
I know from experience a bonnet will not fit inside a saloon :duh: easier to swap over if you're scrapping it.

madeupname 18th July 2019 12:09

door window glass. as many nuts, bolts and screws as possible.
boot liner studs etc. too :}

trikey 18th July 2019 12:18

I’ll buy the drivers wing if it’s in very good condition.

bloomster2 18th July 2019 15:58

Hi,
Did it have Cruise control?

I'm looking for a clutch switch to replace my faulty switch.

Rover_75_Owner 19th July 2019 15:09

So it looks like some people may want some parts off of it.

once I have finished my swap over the rest will be available I will post pictures on here

yes it has working cruise control

Tourist 19th July 2019 15:45

Cheers for your reply about the seats :-)

It's great if your written-off car ends up properly recycled as far as possible.

The pressure relief valve after the UBP can be hard to source.

Rover_75_Owner 27th July 2019 09:23

where is the pressure relief valve UBP?

So I have started taking bits off if any one wants needs any body or interior wise Full leather let me know the drivers wing is not particularly good the passenger doors wings are good. bonnet is ok a few stone chips.

What is left will be collected by the scrap man in the next couple of weeks.

I would hate to see the interior go to scrap but know to store one is a lot of space.

The auto gear box and engine are also quite good if anyone needs one.

Is it worth keeping the Auto box valves I think you can remove them from the side or something (radiators etc are now removed)

Tourist 28th July 2019 22:12

Great to meet you today @Rover_75_Owner - thanks for the rear seats, and helping me get them out.

It was a v nice drive from Cambridge to yours and back and gave me a chance to enjoy the 160 re-map that @MarinaBrian performed on my car a little while ago - it doesn't do too many miles these days so a good blow out was just what it needed!

Jolly good luck in shifting as many parts as possible - and enjoy your new 75 Tourer!

Kjon 29th July 2019 20:51

Rover_75_Owner 30th July 2019 11:35
