******now sold to someone who appreciates this gorgeous car***thanks for all your enquiries and help
kev

* REDUCED PRICE obviously was very optimistic initially so now £750 ono ***

Hi Folks

It is with a degree of sadness that I have decided to sell my 75 Connie...

I have had the pleasure of owning this lovely car for just over a year now but have known the vehicle for quite a number of years as the previous owner, who owned the vehicle from December 2006, is a family friend.

There is a good history with lots of invoices etc.(but not full), but as said previously having known the last owner for some time I guarantee the vehicle has been very well maintained with no expense spared.

The car has proved very reliable to me, with the only problem last November when the window wipers took on a mind of their own. A new battery was fitted and since then the problem has never re-occurred.

The Car - 75 Connie SE 2.5 V6 Auto
1st Reg - 29/09/2003
Colour - Nocturne Monogram Paintwork / Sandstone Leather Interior
Serpent Alloys & Xenon Headlights
Miles - 88,934
MOT - September 2013
Tax - Expired March 2013 (SORN vehicle)

EXTERIOR CONDITION
I would describe this as very good for age and mileage, with only a few age related marks and chips but nothing at all to shout home about.

All the glass/chrome etc is in very good condition and the Serp’ alloys still look great despite having some minor scuffs.

INTERIOR CONDITION
Again, I would describe this as very good for age and mileage with only driver’s side seat and steering wheel showing signs of wear. Being the upper part of the seat wearing slightly near the beading where you get in and out and the leather part of the wooden steering wheel is worn on one side.

All the original mats are present with only the driver’s side showing signs of wear.

Boot area/mat is clean and tidy.

ENGINE/GEARBOX
I’m no mechanic but all seem as it should with no rattles or clunks and drives superb. Timing Belt changed 07/09/2010, 72388 miles.

BAD POINTS
Both front tyres will soon need to be replaced and the exhaust back box is blowing.
Problem with Fan - still kicks in but not operating correctly, honestly don't know what the problem is.
Sat Nav is in-op.

I would dearly love this vehicle to go to a Club Member. Someone who would cherish what is soon to be a "Great Classic".

For more info PM or e-mail me

The vehicle is located only a few minutes from Junction 24 or 25 (M1) near Derby.

scorpio stu 11th April 2013 21:03

Gorgeous colour..good luck..and a cheeky bump

J1MBO 11th April 2013 22:22

I've had the pleasure of viewing this car today as I had considering buying it but have decided not to.

To help those that might be interested Kev's asked me to provide some extra information.

The mk3 satnav drive doesn't work, the red light doesn't come on at any time. I've removed the drive and it's still plugged into the loom. There is signs of water staining on the bracket and unit so I think it's totally dead. The rest of the HiLine system works perfectly though.

There is a problem with the fan as it pulses rather than running continuously when selecting screen demist. The fan was replaced in 2009 (Kev has an invoice/receipt for the work) with a new two speed unit so it may only require a "Gold/Jules" resistor fitting to solve the issue. I would however mention I cannot see the silver resistor.

If I can be of help to anybody that's interested in the car drop me a pm.

carguy143 11th April 2013 22:41

That's a nice colour if i may say so myself..

jn12 11th April 2013 22:50

Amazing what £750 can get you! What a lovely colour :)

MDRover 11th April 2013 23:55

Good Wishes.

Know far less than others about the technical side of these cars and what their value is but have to say that is one attractive looking car and seems very good value to me and it should do to others - particularly like the interior and the alloys and the colour really stands out too.
Pity for you that you have had to drop the price - perhaps its just the timing at the moment but all the best - someone will be well pleased.

redkev 12th April 2013 09:15

:smilie_re: **** Only 25 Rover 75 were ever produced in IAP Nocturne, of these only 3 had a 2.5litre KV6 engine ****

The Artist 12th April 2013 12:05

I really like the look of this car Kev, it is not the manual CDTi that I want but the more I am looking at it the more I am falling in love with it...

carguy143 12th April 2013 14:04

Good luck with the sale, she looks great.

coab 12th April 2013 16:00

I have seen the car too! He came to see one of my MGF`s and I have to say I don't like the MK1 75`s for some reason but in that colour and with all the toys it a lovely high spec car. If I had the readies it would be outside my house!:D
Good luck it truly is a lovely car.:drool4:

eumjmorris 17th April 2013 19:32

looks stunning, and temptingly attractive.

eumjmorris 17th April 2013 20:39

Kev, PM sent.

Jules 20th April 2013 01:02

You'd pay 2 grand more than that if it were a CDT.
2k buys an awful lot of fuel to run a smooth Kv6.
It's a no brainer to me;)

NigelOBB 20th April 2013 08:07

Very nice I'm surprised its still for sale at that price it's a steal

Really pleased to hear that Kev :D.

I'm sure we'll all see it out and about with it's new owner.

Thread title edited to show now sold.

eumjmorris 20th April 2013 11:01

Yes Jules, and you might be seeing it sooner than you expect, to sort out the fan issue!
it's Mike in Bromsgrove, remember the Dorchester Red V6?...regards as ever, M.

eumjmorris 20th April 2013 11:05

J1MBO, tho we havent met, yet, we may well do so, and thanks for your additional info from your viewing this car last week....I am blaming Big Russ, who drew this car to my attention, when with him on Wednesday!...blimey, I dont need any more cars, BUT..
regards to all the forum, moderators especially, Mike M., Bromsgrove.

Jules 20th April 2013 11:08

Hi again Mike!

Yes you still got that one?
Another member from Cornwall was toying with ownership of Nocturnal and bringing it here too!
But he's got several anyway!!
Speak soon

Jules 20th April 2013 11:32

BTW There's no problem nursing these cars around on a temporary basis until the cooling fan is replaced!

Just a few simple steps to follow:

Enter OBD Dash diagnostics for every trip
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...hread.php?t=44

Test no 19 log OFF Toggle to TEST No 7.
Monitor the coolant temp.
Try and keep it under 110C

Switch engine off in stationary traffic.

If temp exceeding 100C Put heater on full heat and max blower.
Open all windows.

The above will significantly reduce the engine temp.
(we drove all round France once without a cooling fan with ambients above 35C and managed to get home without a boil up!

Good luck.

v-man 20th April 2013 12:23

Glad to see it's gone to a forum member, though a bit of me is disappointed as I too was interested in it.

My search continues.....

The Artist 20th April 2013 17:03

Congratulations Kev, yes, as you know I too was thinking of getting it into Cornwall, just a tiny bit too much for me to take on but I am sure it will be lovingly cared for at it's new home.

eumjmorris 22nd April 2013 07:42

Jules, yes I do still have and enjoy the Dorchester Red car you kindly sorted, regards, M.

redkev 24th April 2013 12:48

once again, a big thank you to everyone for your comments and interest.
A big thanks to jimbo for casting is expert eye over it and spreading the word.Much appreciated matey.
Also an apology goes out to the gentleman who made me a great offer but was honest enough to tell me he wanted to BREAK IT!!!!!!!!.
Sorry for the over use of the word scandalous!
Last but by no means least,a huge thank you too mike who bought the car, sorry we didnt meet but all the best to you and 'max'
Cheers.kev.

v-man 24th April 2013 13:34

J1mbo is good like that. Shame he couldn't take it for a test drive to get a feel for it.

As for someone wanting to break it, you are correct it's just plain wrong.

Be nice to have the new owner keep us updated with the cars progress back to greatness.

redkev 24th April 2013 15:21

Mikes already been in touch.new tyres which match the rears, new back box and oil/filter changed.
It deserves it!!!:D

eumjmorris 25th April 2013 17:26

OK, well, the set of serpents with the two new tyres are on Fred's Gold Connie today, and the poor crown wheels off that, which I recently had my favourite Mohawk 205/65/15s put on, still as new, are now swopped for four brand-new Comet wheels which I already had, the alternative standard wheel for this car, and as are on my 53 Tourer CDTi, also new shiny bolts, and I think it looks a treat, but also, it rides better than on 45/17s and even, I think, handles nicer. Now a quiet smooth drive.
As Kev says, exhaust back box, oil/filter, new wipers, awaits new badge insert for the bootlid handle, driver's grab handle from Sean, also one jacking pad, all bought already on ebay. King of the road, and what a bargain these great cars are. Many thanks again to Emma and Kev, and my colleague in car crime, Fred, also to Big Russ who alerted me to the car last week.. I'll have words when we next meet! Projects will be new brakes, and also possible fan issue. Car to POL 2014?

eumjmorris 29th April 2013 12:04

those few bits now received and fitted. sorted, M.

eumjmorris 21st May 2013 12:09

Jules' GOLD resistor collected yesterday, thanks, and fitted this morning, now the fan works happily on slow speed instead of cycling the high-speed on and off, when aircon is selected.. MAGIC. Thanks again, Jules, for interrupting you yesterday, regards, Mike M.

Ahh, so J1mbo's diagnosis was correct.

Be good to see some pics as the project moves forward.

eumjmorris 21st May 2013 15:36

quite, and thanks, though the original pics still stand, apart from now being on brand-new Comet wheels, which I already had....Mike M.

Jules 22nd May 2013 09:12

Thanks Mike
Nice to meet you again even if it was a flying visit!

(Attn Jamesuk)
Just to get me off the hook, Mike was offered Tea & biscuits but I was busy fitting a cooling fan & condenser & he had to zoom off :o

eumjmorris 4th August 2013 19:56

Latest news, and again thanks to J1MBO for previous diagnosis, the dead satnav drive was replaced today with one by/from Stubie, whilst at Peterborough BMC/BL event, and is now working perfectly, and I think I'll not worry about the TV conversion to digital!.
Another thing fixed, well pleased. Also thanks to other members there, especially Woolleysox, Devilish, and Duotone, as club reps. Regards, Mike M.

Good Serpents bought, collected, and refitted with Fred's help this morning. Yippee, regards, Mike M.

eumjmorris 5th October 2013 10:35

drives nice but ride quality much nicer on 205/15 tyres.

Jules 5th October 2013 19:55

Got one here with 215/15's.
Now that is like riding a silk magic carpet !!!

eumjmorris 9th October 2013 15:23

Driving nicely but also a bit prone to tramlining on these 17" tyres. Anyway, got a lockup garage directly over the road from me, that I can see from my front door, and tucked Noccy away out of the future winter weather, to come out on fine days for now.

redkev 5th November 2013 13:31

Hi Mike,
So glad to hear and see max/noccy doing so well.
Really pleased the car went to such an appreciative enthusiast.

I am currently back in the market for another car and so tempted to go for another 75/zt but as you and jimbo know with my mechanical know how not going much further than checking the levels, i cant help thinking i might be biting off more than i can chew!
That said a nice tourer, pref diesel is very appealing, also noticed a nice 1.8 zt tourer for sale on here and only a few miles up the road from me.
Should i chance it???

Will the rain stop soon?

Then I can pull Nocturne out and take her for a decent drive, just to enjoy her, if the sun will shine too that would be a bonus.

Cracking photo Mike.

Nice, you were lucky to buy Noccy, though I imagine she has cost you a fair few shekels since.

eumjmorris 18th November 2013 18:43

Nocturne costs so far.

Purchase price was £750 as you'd have seen. Having passed the original Serpents to Fred, for his gold Connie CDT, the replacement set cost £200 plus travel costs of collection, and other things perhaps £200 to £250 too...all the incidental things listed in the thread already. Tax and extra insurance too. Lets call it £1500 all up. Fred and I looked in on her today, tucked up in the garage. Started first touch. Thanks, M.
