Useful to have Phil, for now I've 'stuck it' here in the technical help section for reference. Now got to get back to my day job :o
|
Can I add our details for the South West
We have a T4 plus mechanics trained at Longbridge to use it and also Rover technical Rav discs. We welcome all Club members and offer them a basic T4 test for £25 |
What happened to the MAP Phil :panic:
|
Dont know Jules, the hosting site just disappeared
|
Hey here's an idea
Let's get them put on Google maps :xmas-smiley-024: |
It would be good if it was highlighted the ones that can do 160 remaps?

t4 south wales
hi all...do you know of a T4 service in south wales. I did find eurorover online but couldnt get a reply via email...thanks
|
What's your symptoms Nicky ?
|
hi Jules,
Nothing serious really. I bought my typoon mk1 cdi last june and its been great. I did fit the top hose thermostat which was great for about 6 weeks and then i had a massive overheat which caused me some panic. I removed the stat and topped up and seemed to top up regualrly for a while but thats settled down (not convinced I didnt have an air block to be honest) although I am running at about 58 degrees so i think i'll go for the more elegant thermostat housing method maybe. I get the airbag warning on the centre instrument pack screen at start up but that goes so im guessing airbag connectors under seats. Not sure to the condition of my MAF but the car has done 121000 miles and i have lot of service history but nothing relating to MAF. MPG isnt great (its an auto) south wales to London last week got me 45MPG but otherwise its around 38MPG and to be honest I'd like to see if anything else needs planning in because I love the car actually inside and out. Oh and I think the resistor on the fan needs changing as when my aircon is on its like a tornado! I have read some of your stuff Jules and to be honest if you was closer to Mountain Ash I may have been making the trip! |
That is about the same mpg I get from Mrs Noc's Auto Nicky. On the same motorway route my manual comes in at 52 mpg.
The Auto is a more relaxing drive though. :D |
i do love the auto i must say...i had an e class (02 plate) before this though and it was lots better fuel wise i must say...the only draw back really
|
Nick those Auto MPG figures agree perfectly with the user manual (approx 8 less than a manual due to the inherent internal friction and losses through the Jatco and torque converter) so I doubt if you will improve on that.
Folk travel here from much further away than you and combine it wirh a nice day or two out in Sunny North Wales ;) |
Nothing wrong with that fuel consumption on an Auto, I wish I could get that much particularly this weather and mine is in 'rude' health..
|
Quite impressive with a thermostat reading of around 55 then lol

I am also a member on the RCOC (Rover Coupe Owner Club). The are member on their with R8 car 1992/1999 what find a need for T4 check from time to time.
Is the a list of T4 guys somewhere that can help owners with Mark 2 or Mark 1 and 2 cars? Would I be aloud to copy and post this list onto RCOC? Thanks Kevin |

That is great Brian I will pass your message on.
Who else is their with a three pin connector for the cars made before 1997 in case a R8 owner is more than 200 miles away from Newcastle upon Tyne? |
Can you update the list with my name, please Phil?

Hi guys. I live in Lithuania, we don't have here any T4. All what i found is here:
http://www.rover-remontas.lt/75/tb1.jpg http://www.rover-remontas.lt/75/tb2.jpg I think this testbook is too old for configuring new SRS ECU in Rover 75? But another guy have Launch x431. Maybe this diagnostic computer can do that? Thanks, just cannot find help anywhere, and cannot go to MOT because SRS light is constantly on... |
Connectors under both seats was checked (was in good condition), but anyway resoldered with new.
|
Don't forget the seat belt pretensioners (blue underseat connectors) are tied into the same circuit. A problem with them will also trigger the warning light.
|
Quote:
|
Yes, but interesting, can SRS ECU be configured with older testbook, photos i attached before, or with Launch x431.
Steve, yes, pretensioners connectrors was resoldered together with aibag connectors. |
Quote:
So yes the SRS DCU can be introduced to your car with this equipment ;) Brian :D |
Glad you noticed this Bri we've been trying to help Oxygen on this thread
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...67#post2093267 He's come a long way in his restoration and is nearly there getting a stored 75 back on the road. What I want to know is where he got brand new YDB100310 from?? Or did he use 101340 instead? Jules |
Quote:
|
Yes DCU and side sensors to no avail Bri
Really needs to get SRS system interrogated as it's a guessing game otherwise I can test his old DCU here if it helps ? |
Guys, i will repeat :)
I got R75 with 60k km on the clock (about 37k mls). Old owner had problem with water inside, so SRS light is on. He tested car somewhere, and service workers told to him that problem is with SRS ECU. So old owner ordered this part from Rimmer Bros ( http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-YWJ101590 ) and sold it to me together with car. I removed central panel, found that SRS ECU with little signs of water. Removed and installed new, but light still on. I checked sensors- as well have signs of water! Ordered two new from Rimmer Bros. Installed- still no effect :) BTW all seats connectors is resoldered with new. About sensors codes: I ordered two: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-YWJ101340 - at the boxes i see YWJ101340, but inside is just new YDB100310 sensors. |
Ok you will have to configure a virgin DCU
We've never had to do that as we always use good tested used ones ;) |
Quote:
Ah, I hear people ask....the result permanent airbag light with open circuit faults on the rear seat belt pretensioners reported, Similar if a car has had a donor ECU set fitted, if the ZCS coding data came from that of a car with say for sake of argument curtain airbags, the car will have a hissy fit if the SRS DCU is configured using this data, only the LSM and IPK will be unscathed as the data cannot be rewritten due to the VIN being locked in these modules. I think Oxygen's best course of action is to get the car on the testbook he has access to and take it from there ;) Brian :D |
Appreciate that Bri but that basic advice was before Oxygen had found some kit over there which will help him.
For folk with absolutely no prospect of T4, my old fashioned method of using a scrapper DCU worked 80% of the time because majority of SRS systems in 75's are poverty spec.:D |
Yeh, method with good used SRS ECU is working!
I posted pictures to my thread. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=221887&page=5 Thanks! |

T4 in Lincoln
Hello my friend in Welton near Lincoln has a T4 diagnostic machine if anybody needs one
Best wishes Chris |
Welcome Chris to the forum.
We could do with some detail about how to contact your friend and to add him to the forum list.---:D |
T4
Not completely sure but I think Horners in Swinton, Manchester, have got one (a T4). I think "Horners" is the re-incarnation of the old Horners Rover dealership. They certainly advertise as Rover specialists. I think a web search on "Horners Swinton" leads to their website and details etc.

Hi, does anyone have a T4 near to Lincoln please, need a couple of things looked at on my project 260 facelift.
Front seat moves forward when I use the fob to open the boot but the boot doesn't open, does via the cabin switch, both front windows do not have the one shot to open and the drivers side doesn't close on a one shot either, and last thing cruise control isn't working. Don't mind traveling as long as it's not 100's of miles away. Many thanks Jeff |

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted on here, everything has been fine with my car until a couple of weeks ago. I'm in desperate need of a T4 check near Wilmsow. My car Connoisseur Diesel Auto had thrown up the EP signal on the IPK. It started but had no mileage or fuel gauge, i disconnected the battery for an hour and it was fine for a day, next it had tge EP again, had gauges but refused to start.I know these cars very well and have contributed to answers on here and now need help myself. I have tried to ring PhilT4 but the number connects to a lady, I rang it because it was in my phone list and Phil did my original T4 check and upgrade when I bought my car over 7 years ago.
I've done the usual checks, plenum which had a bit of water but nothing major I clean it regularly. I pulled out the ECU anyway to check it, it was bone dry but disconnected it and took it into the house opened it up, it was perfect. Put it back in ,reconnected everything, checked the fuse 4 ,cleaned and sprayed all the relays and underbonnet fuse box with contact cleaner . Still had EP and wouldn't start, took out the keys, straight back in and the error had gone P for park was displayed started first turn, run like a dream as usual . Was fine gor 2 days then tjis morning i drove it for an hour it was fine ,cameback out yo take my wife for her booster and EP again and won't start. Can someone please help with advice and possibly a contact for a local T4 check? Thanks Regards DaDragon. |
Can I also add,( just remembered ) 2 years ago I repaired the lines issue in the IPK when I reconnected the plugs they wouldn't sit right and I
got that EP message and no gauges, i had to remove the locking part on the blocks, pushed them firmly home and it was fine. I checked these on Thursday when I removed the ECU and they were still firmly located even without the lock part, I sprayed the contacts with the correct cleaner just in case, all working until today. I also sprayed the fuel filter contacts, everything is clean and dry Thought this extra information would help, ? Waiting for a reply, thanks. Regards DaDragon. |
Still awaiting some help, anyone? Noticed when EP is displayed that there is a loud buzzing sound near the glove box ,sounds like an electrical door being engaged to let someone in a building. Sounds like the computer is trying to establish a connection via a relay or something. I need help people. This is my third request. Thanks.
Regards DaDragon. |

You would do better to put this in a new thread as the only people who would look at this thread are people who are interested in finding their nearest T4 trader |
