Anglo Scottish Meet/ Gretna Meet 17th July

There has been some talk about a meet at Gretna in July / August.
How are people placed for either 17th July or 21st Aug?

The usual proviso applys

Please be aware this is not an official 75 & ZT Owners Club meet and as such is not covered by the clubs public liability insurance. Also the owners club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

Would guess aim to meet up around noon, that way those travelling from further afield are able to get there without having to get up at the crack of dawn.

Hi Guys,

After discussion with Simondi and a PM with contact details from Justmicky, I have now made contact with Gretna Green to see if they can accommodate us on the 17th of July.

Awaiting a response at the moment and will update once I have some more information.

Cheers,

Hi all.

Just spoken with the very helpful people at Gretna Smithy. They are delighted we wish to visit again however are a trying to come up with a suitable spot where we can all park together. Lady I am speaking with is trying to confirm with the Ops Manager that a grass area will be suitable and will let me know. A weekend in the summer can be very busy and she is keen to see if they can accommodate us somewhere on our own.

I'll let you know more when I hear back.

Hi Derek,

Many thanks for all you are doing with this,Jan & I know, from our experience with the RBR,the guys & gals at Gretna couldnt do enough for us,even staying back,as it was after closing when we arrived there.

We cannot praise them enough for all they did to make our bit of the rally,a truly momentos occasion, with this in mind,we think it should make for a great venue for our event, hopefully we can attract other members to attend to help make this a good day out.

Once again Derek, much apreciated for all you are doing, hope we have a good one.

Please be aware this is not an official 75 & ZT Owners Club meet and as such is not covered by the clubs public liability insurance. Also the owners club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/q...eenCollage.jpg

This meet is progressing nicely and I am now able to provide an update as well as detailing the list of members attending and the possibles so far.

We have made contact with the operators of the Old Blacksmith's Shop following a very strong recommendation from Bluejon and Justmicky as to how well they felt they had been looked after during the Round Britain Relay (see here for photos and background: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...74&postcount=8 )

Thankfully the boys and girls must have behaved themselves :D as they are delighted to welcome us back and are arranging to cordon off a parking area on the grass beside their main car park for our exclusive use.

http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/q...ammerAnvil.jpg

Hi there,

Gary (Garaidh) is from the East so hopefully he will be up for it. I will need to look at the spread of members and think about convoy(s) nearer the time. I usually set them up a few days before when we have a firmer idea of numbers.

Cheers Dave - yes had a very pleasant run home - not actually outside my house which is off a walkway with no vehicle access, must find a much better backdrop for photo's.

Meant to message you when I got home but time seemed to get away from me but then the subscribed thread email jogged my memory.

Keep in touch

Hi Thomas.

I have not started any convoys as yet but the Morrisons car park at the Glasgow Fort may be a suitable spot again for us to meet up.

Anyone else up for a convoy all the way to Gretna?:D:D:D

No Thomas, it was Morrisons. We have used it a few times now for meet convoys (SARR 09, SARR 10, Falkirk & Cambo).

I have met WeeMan and others at Tesco at Silverburn before and we used an Asda for the Loch Lomond.

But for you it was Morrisons at Glasgow Fort:D
