Give it time.
It's a lovely looking car but most people on here already have a car.
And where you have been brutally honest it might put some people off.
I wish you all know best with the sale regards Thomas

scorpio stu 22nd October 2013 10:40

Thanks Thomas. My last post was tongue in cheek but I know what you mean
I thought it's better to be honest as all the jobs are minor and cheap to do.
Will wait for the offers to roll in lol

Oh definitely it is a lovely looking car and from what I've read just silly little jobs.

scorpio stu 22nd October 2013 10:44

And to be honest I'm only selling as I fancy a change. I'm getting my previous car back the other conni in the pictures so still staying with the rovers

And if I get no response or enquiries then will be keeping her :)

eumjmorris 22nd October 2013 12:37

This ZT-T looks just Gorgeous!

V6Matty 22nd October 2013 12:58

got an idea you go buy that one and i'll take the nocture off yer hands lmao :):laughing2::clap:

scorpio stu 22nd October 2013 14:26

As my other post in the swap section says I'd consider swapping for something interesting or a classic

I don't! And I'm looking for a rare colour again but don't have yet the offer/payment from insurance company.

Simon,
You'll get sorted and I'm in no mad rush.Had one enq for more pictures but nothing else so doubt it's going to fly off the shelf.

Maybe I've been too honest ?

GagHalfrunt 24th October 2013 09:10

Just out of curiosity, how many miles had the replacement engine done? I'm assuming less than 125K which could be a selling point.

Do you have interior photos?

scorpio stu 24th October 2013 09:13

From memory Sean told me it had done around 70k but I've got nothing confirmed in writing. Engine is sweet and I've not had any issues. I'm going to try and get some interior shots but after my accident I'm a little incapacitated lol

Well I hope it all works out well for you Simon and you get a good payout so you may look into purchasing this fine looking beast.
You realise after having a fancy monogram you won't be able to go back to the normal colours:}

scorpio stu 24th October 2013 10:18

Still not sure what I fancy to replace it. 4x4 or classic or a really boring small economic diesel. Yuk,perish the thought

coolcat 25th October 2013 19:32

Having Seen Stu's car in the flesh I can say that it is indeed even better looking than in the photos :drool4:
Good luck with the sale Sir;)

scorpio stu 25th October 2013 19:50

Very kind of you young man

I did think I'd have more interest but happy to keep her and do the bits. I'm also considering putting her into storage.

thomas 75 connie 30th October 2013 14:44

Great news in a way Stu.

I think your the perfect person with the car as it is.

What sort of project are you thinking of anyway:}

scorpio stu 30th October 2013 15:10

Cheers Thomas.
I really fancied a classic car that needed minor work to be honest. I have under cover storage I rent in a barn do could have done the work over the winter
I've had a few p6's before and would love another one but don't have the funds to buy one.
Oh well, the typhoon is a great looking and driving car with very few minor bits that need doing.

Always the worst time to try and sell a car mate :(

If you can afford it I would wait till February/march time, as you will stand a better chance of getting a good price.

With everyone buying Xmas pressies the only way of selling a car is to sell cheap :(

scorpio stu 29th November 2013 12:19

I know, thanks Pete. Just needed the cash but never mind

Just thought I would mention that you should delete the posts where you say it's 'NLA' as some folk might read up to there and see that and read no further not seeing that it's for sale again/still..... ;)

Matt V6 21st December 2013 19:02

Could be tempted if it was a bit closer to £1000 ?

Matt

scorpio stu 21st December 2013 20:00

Ok, I've just turned red again so can post on here. Thanks to white van man and reebs.
The car is still for sale. The new engine had done 71k when it was fitted with new belts and water pump. Contact seancar for details as he did the work for me and a top bloke. The alternator light is fixed after I cleaned the terminals and re fitted it. Pads still need doing as does the air con and gold resistor. Great car in decent condition.

ZT-T Monogram Typhoon For Sale ***£1000***

Still for sale. Nice chap who came a long way and loved the car but worried as the trip shows 21.5 mpg. The trips aren't that reliable but remember it's a ten yr old 2.5 v6, how good are they going to be ?? The cars book at 25.5 mpg when new and it's now ten years old. Anyway it's still for sale luckily for you lot.

Matt V6 29th December 2013 15:13

So Who seen the car today ?

scorpio stu 29th December 2013 17:27

scorpio stu 30th December 2013 13:12

And still available..Giving up soon £1000 is obviously not cheap enough.Price is not going to be reduced any more. I understand its a funny time of year but just getting messed about with people not turning up or turning up and expecting a 10yr old 2.5 litre v6 car to do the same mpg as it did when new ??

If you're only using it for relatively short runs I would say it's probably doing the same mpg as it did when new. It is a 2.5 after all. When I had a brand new 2.5 X type I couldn't get much more than 22mpg locally. Bizarrely enough, when I got the 3.0 X type I used to get better mpg.

Matt V6 30th December 2013 13:49

Don't give up Stu, be patient !
You know my situation.

Know the feeling Stu. Took me a long time to sell the V8. Someone will come along and buy it off you soon.

Lottysvdub 30th December 2013 18:12

I would have had it earlier this year but at the time it was just out of my price range .... Gutted really and I'm shocked it's not sold especially for the price now .... If I had a spare grand I would still have it off you . But unfortunately having just been cleared out of most of my savings by her indoors wanting new carpets and sofa's before Christmas I just can't do it ... So so shocked it's not gone .

I have a Roush Cougar that I could probably sell but it would take time as it's not really a car many people are looking for unless your in to Cougars and know how rare they are .

scorpio stu 31st December 2013 06:58

What's a Roush Cougar ?

scorpio stu 31st December 2013 07:02

I'm getting to the stage where I'm just going to keep her and close the sale. Just had another person pull out because of fuel consumption.
Please remember it's a ten year old 2.5 v6 auto
I put £20 in and get roughly 75-80miles out of it.

Matt V6 31st December 2013 12:40

To pull out on fuel consumption is ridiculous, if people want 50mpg+, get a diesel !
I have a v6 and my £20 gets me around 60 miles round town.

scorpio stu 31st December 2013 12:58

Mods please show the car as nla and lock the thread. I've had 4 people pull out of buying this stunning car. Not sure what people want for a grand but obviously not this. Keeping the car as I seem to be the only one that appreciates what it is and it'll be going into storage. Thanks.

Wow. I run my 190 on lpg and get 250 miles on £39 gas. And I drive my car hard. Lpg pays for it self in no time. I would buy this car in a heartbeat but cant persuade the missus to get rid of the mitsubishi

I have a 2.5 V6 auto that is currently averaging 23.2 MPG, I can get it down to 18MPG if I try.
I don't think your MPG is unreasonable given the cold weather.

PS. SWMBO drives the diesel tourer, if I wanted economy, I'd drive the diesel.
That averages about 38 MPG in the cold weather.
I still drive the petrol out of preference though.

Keep the faith Stu!

Regards,

Tom.

I'm guessing the Cougar was a standard 2.5 xpack to start with and you've added the Roush kit and dropped in a ST duratec in place of the standard Duratec engine?

I know they made around 200 in the states, but didn't think Roush made it over to the UK?

Stu, your ZT-T is a steal. If my mrs wasn't afraid of big cars. She'd have it. Her Clio is on its last legs.

Tris.

Yep your right full Roush kit including the exhausts
And it was a brand new st200 engine off a pallet and most of the other SVT parts direct from the states ... All put together and producing more hp than the original Roush units .
If I recall 13 Roush kits made it in to Europe and I have had 2 ....
Mine was one of the originals and the 2nd I could have sold 100 times over :new_year:

It's lovely mate, I miss my cougar. Had the same colour as yours, but standard 2.5 duratec, leather seats, etc.
Only mods were the American cougar badges, grills and rear light clusters.

Don't sell that Cougar!!
:xmas-smiley-018:

And Stu, DO NOT SELL YOUR ZT-T

Please remember it's a ten year old 2.5 v6 auto
I put £20 in and get roughly 75-80miles out of it.

So sorry about that Stu, I feel really bad about it.
I do love your car & if I had a bit of spare cash I'd still do the swap & put an LPG kit into it.
I've just had a thought; why not convert it yourself & then keep it?
All the best
Martin

scorpio stu 2nd January 2014 01:37

No worries and putting LPG in is too expensive for me at the moment.

Scorpios Car

Have been keeping an avid eye on your car, it is okay to say they are only minor jobs ect!! to be done but to me they are major jobs I would not know the first thing to take the front bumper off, and to repair the air con is another thing, also perhaps the exchange engine is giving potential punters doubts, please don't take this as a critic cos! it aint. that is probably why it did not sell because those that can do those jobs have probably got their cars already up to spec, to me it is work I could not attempt, it is no doubt a lovely looking car by all accounts and a shame it did not sell.

Julien.

Did you try putting it on Gumtree, people do use that quite a bit, as well as Freeads. It costs nothing and you just put it there and basically forget about it until it sells or runs out. Also, did you put a sign in the windows, always a good bet....
These things cost you nothing and gives you far more visibility than you'll get on here. Not only that, but nearly everyone here has a Rover or MG.
