Brand Name
I am trying to come up with a BRAND Name and I have been drawing blanks
Like Pioneer Alpine, Blaupunkt (Whatever that means) Kenwood, Xtrons, Apple, JVC etc etc. Sean's Unit or the DD is not easy to remember and not enduring ! I need to have something nice and Memorable. Any input would be appreciated ! We will put this to a vote later . Suggestions so far Headline Headliner Boson Radioguy Juke JuKenso SuperSonic NAES (Sean Spelled backwards Pronounced NICE) BlueEcho WRS (World radio Supply) Leatherwood audio Vanguard Audio Smartmedia RGA (As in radioGuy Audio But Sounds like RCA) RUDD Thalia (meaning festivity), Angelia (message) Philia (Friendship) Revor Audio SDD Audio (As in Seans Double Din) RGbeats SNAPPY NWA (Night Wing audio) Ten-4 (XIV) Cruiser SCS (As in Sean Car Sound) Essay SEMCA SEMI Tourer Tunes Bluebird MagicBass TrueTunes TrueTones SouthMount (Get it Sean!) SoundStomp AutoSync SIDDS R4T Woolley Longboat Starley Sutton |
Sean take a look here. http://www.ipo.gov.uk
Register on line from start to finishing takes around 6 months. I registered Veltech for our tv brand cost is around £140 I think, consider a logo too. If you search on the site you can see brands already taken but it does help in formulating your own. |

Not really we are a trade seller in the main, the public are a nightmare ;)
|
Great But I Am trying to get a NAME , FOr me ! LOL Ideas !
|
Canucktech ?
|
I decided to translate double din into various languages for the best sounding name.
Japanese came out best with Jū kensō however you could possibly cut it down to kenso if that's available |
Two come to mind...
'SUPERSONIC' - Although widely used as a name, I'm sure there is no Supersonic Car Radios. Another is 'WRS' an abbreviation for 'World Radio Systems'. Given your international supply, quite apt. Ciao. |

How about Viking Audio?
|
How about "Boson" after the Higgs Boson particle recently proved to exist by scientist at CERN?
Its a game changer, similar to that latest DD units and the customer service offered......... :D |
Headline Audio. Just googled it and didn't find anything :D
|
How about 'NAES' Audio...? Sean backwards... ;)
NB. Pronounced - 'NICE'.... ;) |

In the sixties and seventies the boxes for their car radios had an English translation as well as Blaupunkt. The German / English translation is primarily Blue Spot although Blue Dot is also a possible translation. Dave T |
You could use my old on-line name.
BlueEcho. |
You are of course missing the obvious one! ;)
|
Yes whats the matter with RadioGuy

It seems the most successful brands have names that have nothing to really do with the Product If i said I am going out to buy an APPLE, you wouldn't immediately think an Iphone ! |

I Thought so but wasnt sure ! |
As said it doesn't matter what you like if it doesn't pass intellectual properties it is a non starter, so go on that site and look and even then they can reject it and after that companies have a right to reject, so if you picked Bosent for example Bose will be aware and can put in a case to refuse it. Just trying to give you a heads up really having been there done it ;)
|
Apple is now the number one brand in the world ! Even bigger than Coca Cola . Maybe I should just use a fruit 1
Like the GRAPE or the MANGO or PEAR or PEACH |
Leatherwood audio.
Leatherwood Sound Systems. |

I understand , thanks |

Hi, folks.
I have some suggestion. I come whit RUDD (Rover Unit Double Din). I know that is some sort of fish, but any way. Or ROVUNDOU. Regard to all. |
What about using a ancient Greek name ( like Nike = Victory) , I had though about Thalia (meaning festivity), Angelia (message) or Philia (friendship).
|
1. Panaphonics
2. Magnetbox 3. Sorny 4. Buzz Radio OK, I have nothing constructive to add. Some excellent ideas so far, though. Edit - I like Tesla but that car guy probably has it taken. |
I rather like Viking Audio.
A few more for the mix Vanguard Audio VoxAudio Smartmedia and finally RGA, works on two levels ;). |

RGA , RCA , RadioGuy Audio |
Revor Audio

RGbeats.
As in Radioguybeats (as in dr dre) |
SDD Audio
SDD + Seans Double Dins |
Viking Audio ain't bad. Lot of the others either aren't "snappy" enough or bring the reaction WTF more than anything else. Some of them the unit wouldn't be big enough to get the name on it :D
|
Quote:
But SNAPPY is SNAPPY ! |

|
NWA (Night Wing audio) :D
Rap fans should get that one...... |

Think of all the 'big' brand names and what do you see? Panasonic, Samsung, Clarion, Kodak, Apple, Sony...Viking? It fits, simple, and no mention of what the product is, or does. I think VoxAudio would be out from the outset if Vox Amplification heard about it. I have the name Ten-4 in my head for some reason. It doesn't fit in with the 'single name' concepts but I thought it had a 'ring' to it, if you know what I mean. Perhaps with Roman numerals as a logo...XIV |
|
I was also thinking ANDY as in ANDROID
|
Or CARDROIDS?
|
Doh!!!! http://andyaudio.com/
:getmecoat::getmecoat::getmecoat::getmecoat: Double Doh!!! http://www.mycardroid.com/ |
Have we had Phoenix Audio yet?

Oh. How about Essay as in SA Sean Audio.
I'm running dry now :) |
Maybe its just me but I think a brand name shouldn't have abstract relationship with its product or founder. Acronyms can help with this e.g. IKEA. Or ABBA. I also think 4 letters or 5 max is best.
So some link back to Sean Moore and your product. I'm not good with this stuff (I'm terrible at cryptic crosswords) but how about Sean Moore Car Audio - SEMCA Or Sean Moore ICE - SEMI, although thats mixing 2 acronyms. I'm sure there are better examples if you play around with it. Also do you want it to refer just to your new Android unit? Or all your car audio? Or all your products? |
How about Tourer Tunes? :P
|
Quote:
|
RGX; Radio Guy eXcellence? Sorry if anyone has already suggested this! :D
|
MagicBass
TrueTunes TrueTones SouthMount (Get it Sean!) SoundStomp AutoSync That's it Im done lol |

LOL Got it , A Little S and M never hurt anyone ! Well, I guess maybe it does ! Not that I would know. |
How about SIDDS, Seans In-car Double Din Solutions? :getmecoat:
Its poor I know but I'm trying lol :D |
Starley and Sutton.
My personal favourite. This company made the Rover Safety Bicycle in 1887. This is the origin of the Rover car brand. My searches suggest the name is no longer registered as a business. It sounds very British. It has historical significance and rolls of the tongue quite well :) |
Woolley.
In honour of Richard Woolley. |
Longboat would also be kinda cool :)
|
Or even R4T. Get It? Heh.
|

Quote:
Or ?? |
The in-house name for the design that became the 75-zt was R40.
So R4T. Hmm. That spells Rat in 'text speak' Never mind. Then again it could be seen as 'edgy' I suppose :) |

But I Want the Brand for Other Models As well. Like BMW , www.bmwradios.com is me too ! I think Ill prepare the POLL tonight |

Moore then. Works on a few levels. |

We have the Logo Done as well. Thank you all again ! The decision was not an easy one ! |
sounds good, will it be appearing on the dd's?
|
Vs can sound somewhat like Fs so "Naff all" as in Naff off:mad:
|
NAV ALL is not equal to Naff off!...... Cheer up ;)
Congratulations to Radio Guy in getting there :drool4: |
