Sean take a look here. http://www.ipo.gov.uk

Register on line from start to finishing takes around 6 months. I registered Veltech for our tv brand cost is around £140 I think, consider a logo too.

If you search on the site you can see brands already taken but it does help in formulating your own.

Banjo 7th October 2013 21:56

Canucktech ?

tareim 7th October 2013 22:24

I decided to translate double din into various languages for the best sounding name.

Japanese came out best with Jū kensō however you could possibly cut it down to kenso if that's available

MangoMan 7th October 2013 22:32

Two come to mind...

'SUPERSONIC' - Although widely used as a name, I'm sure there is no Supersonic Car Radios.

Another is 'WRS' an abbreviation for 'World Radio Systems'. Given your international supply, quite apt.

Ciao.

Its generally known as Blue Spot.

In the sixties and seventies the boxes for their car radios had an English translation as well as Blaupunkt.

The German / English translation is primarily Blue Spot although Blue Dot is also a possible translation.

As said it doesn't matter what you like if it doesn't pass intellectual properties it is a non starter, so go on that site and look and even then they can reject it and after that companies have a right to reject, so if you picked Bosent for example Bose will be aware and can put in a case to refuse it. Just trying to give you a heads up really having been there done it ;)

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded this year's Nobel Prize in Physics to scientists Francois Englert and Peter Higgs on Tuesday for their 1964 postulation of the existence of the Higgs boson. Scientists confirmed in July 2012 the existence of the so-called God particle, which is what gives matter its mass.

The July 2012 discovery of the particle in the most powerful particle accelerator in the world, the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland, has been billed as one of the biggest scientific achievements of the last 50 years.

I have some suggestion. I come whit RUDD (Rover Unit Double Din). I know that is some sort of fish, but any way. Or ROVUNDOU.
Regard to all.

Banjo 8th October 2013 12:17

What about using a ancient Greek name ( like Nike = Victory) , I had though about Thalia (meaning festivity), Angelia (message) or Philia (friendship).

CDTi 8th October 2013 12:43

1. Panaphonics
2. Magnetbox
3. Sorny
4. Buzz Radio

OK, I have nothing constructive to add. Some excellent ideas so far, though.

Edit - I like Tesla but that car guy probably has it taken.

You want a name that relects quality . . . . I'm afraid Snappy doesn't do that, sounds like the noise it'll make when you try to clip the unit in! Other Steve's suggestion SDD Audio is good, with the added bonus SDD creates logo possibilities.

I also like 'Viking' as a brand name but wouldn't use 'Audio' in the brand name, no matter what other word accompanied it. To me it suggests the manufacturer is unsure of the product's ability to sell itself, so feels the need to tell their potential customers what it does, within the brand name.
Think of all the 'big' brand names and what do you see?
Panasonic, Samsung, Clarion, Kodak, Apple, Sony...Viking? It fits, simple, and no mention of what the product is, or does.

I think VoxAudio would be out from the outset if Vox Amplification heard about it.

I have the name Ten-4 in my head for some reason. It doesn't fit in with the 'single name' concepts but I thought it had a 'ring' to it, if you know what I mean. Perhaps with Roman numerals as a logo...XIV

Oh. How about Essay as in SA Sean Audio.
I'm running dry now :)

CDTi 8th October 2013 23:37

Maybe its just me but I think a brand name shouldn't have abstract relationship with its product or founder. Acronyms can help with this e.g. IKEA. Or ABBA. I also think 4 letters or 5 max is best.

So some link back to Sean Moore and your product. I'm not good with this stuff (I'm terrible at cryptic crosswords) but how about

Sean Moore Car Audio - SEMCA

Or Sean Moore ICE - SEMI, although thats mixing 2 acronyms.

I'm sure there are better examples if you play around with it.

Also do you want it to refer just to your new Android unit? Or all your car audio? Or all your products?

Starley and Sutton.
My personal favourite.
This company made the Rover Safety Bicycle in 1887.
This is the origin of the Rover car brand.
My searches suggest the name is no longer registered as a business.
It sounds very British. It has historical significance and rolls of the tongue quite well :)

BaroqueMoon 10th October 2013 21:58

Woolley.
In honour of Richard Woolley.
