Irish travellers on our door step ;(
 

Had this experience with them few weeks ago have too say my heart rate was racing like anything.


Anyone else have any experiences with them?

As soon as there gone the better.

Just Giving everyone a heads up.
As some of you are aware we have Irish travellers on the Ferodo site.
So keep your eyes peeled lots of activity in the early hours of the morning I have my own ideas what there doing.
Two weeks back they were constantly checking out the units making beeping ass excuses on why they were there.
They were having a good probe around as soon as they saw people on site they tuned away.
Then I did something which I very nearly regretted brave and stupid all In one go, I snooped at night taking a look at there camp site well turf as they called it.


I wanted too know what vehicles they had just so I can easily identify them if anything were too happen too the units here.
As soon as Shined my touch at the bridge towards Ferodo I saw two headlights heading straight for me at speed very nearly knocking me over I thought oh beep I wasn't expecting that at all even at the hours I went too.
A brief chat with the words WHAT BEEP YOU DOING HERE!!!!!!! DON'T MOVE then they went straight for the gate and pad locked it behind me, I'm man enough too admit this for the very first time of my life I thought beep well done Dave you've put yourself in a position where your boxed in combo of fear adrenaline anger but yes I was...…. pretty neverous what was going too happen next , So I waited As I knew if I did try and do a runner they would have caught up with me with that pick up truck plus I wasn't sure if it was just the two or they more around so I didn't take the risk for I know they could have ganged up on me and giving me a kicking of my life or worse so didn't want upset them as they already were there's a time and a place this wasn't one of them.


Lots of swearing intimidation later felt like a eternity talking too them but we did put our cards on the table and situation was resolved they knew my reasons and I knew there's we both admitted we've been treading on each others toes checking things out so in that sense we were even.
There trying too protect there way of life and were trying too protect our lively hoods there's lot of business here it would anger me too the core if someone robbed them blindly.
If the situation was reversed they wouldn't like it either.
So far so good everything security wise has been okay that's great.
But still were on the ball and still on edge.
If you see a Blue transit van long wheel base and a white Iveco pick up near your area be on your guard.

We have mostly Rumanian with a few Irish itinerants round here. I'm frequently asked if I want to sell my caravan, last one said '...you don't use it'. We have an almost constant procession of scrap collector passing up the street in overloaded, uninsured, untaxed vehicles - they are more regular than the postie.


Police seem to not want the hassle of stopping them and its pointless fining them.

The Police will not apprehend them for fear of being labeled Racist.

Went over there Turf Again and came back with great news ;)
 

Well certainly ain't any travellers here anymore owner of the site must have know all the access roads are all blocked no vehicle is getting in here.
We can all chill now.
I can get some decent sleep at last. :D

We had some parked up not far from here, even the wheelie bins got pinched after they had been emptied. The women from the council said they must have hundreds of them as it happens every time ''they come to town''.

Years ago the police clamped all the vehicles that were not taxed or insured ( most) and all they did was angle grind the clamps off and move off over night.
