Hi tony
I've done this mod albeit some years ago and now the memory is a bit vague But as I recall you're on the right track so far Yes you change the bumper loom which you'll find when you remove the bumper tucked (in clips) in the rear of the bumper The white multiplug where it's joined to the rest of the loom is I think just below the near side headlight Simply change the loom over, fit the fog lights to the bumper, fit the relay to the fuse box and change the headlight switch FRONT PANEL ONLY Reassemble Job done Send me your address details and I'll send you the relay FOC buddy Regards Chris |
This is the fitting leaflet for the MGR fog lamps kit. There may have been two versions since I believe some models came with the harness already fitted.

The front bumper loom with fog lights should have six cables with a grey connector, which joins a similar connector with the same colour cables in the engine compartment near the LH headlamp.
Green/Red & Green/White - indicators Brown/Light Green - Foglights Black - Earth Orange & Black/Slate - Temperature Sensor If the car was not factory fitted with fog lights, there may not be the Brown/Light Green cable in the bumper loom, and will need to be added from the grey main loom connector or engine fuse panel. |
thanks all for your help, when i removed the front bumper i found that the indicator connectors were different, im assuming that the loom that came with the fog lights were from a mk1 and mine is a mk2, not a problem i simply cut the connectors off the mk1 loom and soldered the mk2 connectors onto the mk1 loom, everything else was the same.
