When got home

A few letters to look at . !

One was a parking letter from Parking eye.. seems i overstayed some minutes when I took my 90 yr old dad to the hospital the day before we left on the trip

Typical. If it was someone who seems to not give a *#@% they would have got away with it. Appeal it Chris and tell them that your dad can hardly walk and at his age you can not hurry. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that.

My lad got done the other week dropping someone off at East Mids Airport.
30 seconds to get out the car with a bag, ( if that ) and £60 fine later.

Apparently he wasn't in a "designated" drop off zone.
So 30 seconds cost him £60.

We pay to a small fortune of car insurance,
road tax,
fuel duty,
car park fees. etc.

Do 2 mph over the speed limit and its 3 points and what ever the new law is on the fine, a certain percentage of your wages?

It does make you sick.

Sorry, rant over.

I agree, appeal. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Parking eye are scum.

Plenty of info on here on how to fight a parking invoice. https://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/parking-eye/

They also offer a service to do it for you, I've used them a couple times and had the ticket cancelled on both occasions.

people are angry with firms such as Parking Eye but there are 2 things to consider,
1 The driver has not followed the rules
2 A retail outlet / land owner has employed the parking company.

Perhaps a protest to the land owner or boycott of the retail outlet would do more good.

I would love to use a parking company to stop people (visitors to my neighbour) parking on my land as they make it difficult for other drivers to turn their car around. As my neighbour raised it as an issue but allows their visitors to park on my land I feel clamping or a fine is the way to go.

Dad can't actually walk more than few yards without a sit down ..

Seems I overstayed 9 mins outside the 20+ 10 grace period . :duh:

think they can stick it !! :D

Will pay it by ear .

Liz got one of these from PE years ago about 5 hours after we sold the Fiat X19 .. so wasn't even us.

Then we ignored it and they stopped sending after 2 letters

So, are you saying that you stayed 39 minutes over your time?

It is unfortunate that in England and Wales, that ultimately the keeper becomes responsible for private parking invoices. First thing to check though, was the signage clearly visible in the area? Then did they allow you a reasonable amount of time after the ticket expired (usually 10 minutes). The template Rick mentions are apparently very good for such appeals.

Thankfully for the time being in ni, the driver is solely responsible for entering into these implied contracts and without evidence of the driver, they cannot be upheld in court (there have been no prosecutions regarding private parking companies).
