She has actually said that I can have a Sportbrake XFR-S or CLS63 provided we also have a family beech-hut on Felixstowe seafront.

So it's a decision on whether I get a CLS 350 now or wait a couple of years and get the XFR-S or the CLS63.

Get the CLS bought, and get a packet of this stuff and say you misheard her on the other ;)

Brian - I suspect the packet will end up lodged in an uncomfortable place on my person!

I think that the removal of buttons and replacing everything with touchscreens is a really bad idea. Aside from buttons being less distracting and quicker to access, half the time the systems on these cars are really laggy and often freeze. My mum has a 2013 C Max and the entertainment system is seriously dated after only 6 years, to the point of being frustrating. In a few years time I think the user interface of many of these cars entertainment systems will become really outdated. Case in point, the highline radio for the 75. Looked good at the time but years later it's antiquated, and the TV is totally useless as it's analogue (Unless you upgrade it to digital.) Give these modern entertainment systems 10 years or so and they'll be comparatively unresponsive and restrictive compared to even newer cars. Of course, I don't think the average new car buyer is going to keep their car that long.

Also, I think manufacturers need to stop using piano black plastic in their cars. It looks cheap, feels cheap, and scratches very easily.

I got a C class 250 diesel AMG line (2.1 straight 4 twin turbo) a couple of years ago to replace my r75 and I would not look back. Hoping to change end of this year for a CLS 350 diesel AMG.

Can't fault them. NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- Germans!!!

Mind you I use my ZT daily and the wife uses the Merc:D:D
