Ten Minute Handover?

It's amazing what you can/can't learn in ten minutes:-

So sorry for the families involved. Such a tragedy.

One of the reasons I do most of my boating 'Out of Season'

Let's hope we don't have three fatalities on the Broads again this year!

Horrendous. Holidays are potentially dangerous. It's too easy to be over-relaxed. Just a split second and there for the grace of God go all of us. They had a water tragedy off Padstow where a family fell out of a power boat. The driver didn't attach the kill switch so the boat went round in circles and chewed up everyone in the water. The father and one of the children died from their injuries. Again, poor handover initially contributed.:(

Boating skills.

I had a boat at Teignmouth Devon harbour for over 17 years.

For an afternoons entertainment just take a drink and some sandwiches to the river boat slipway and watch the townies trying to launch their boats.

What always complicated matters was that the tide was always running one way or another.--Launching a boat into moving water required a good deal of skill.--( and know how. )

Could write a book on folk up to their waists in water while dressed in a suit to exploding outboard engines.----:D

Lots of folks don't realize that the Broads rivers are affected by the tides. Such fun to watch when they spot a pub and try to "brake", turn round and moor up. Watching a seven stone man or woman trying to hang on to a two ton cruiser on a slippery bank is hair raising!
