Raising height of passenger seat

I would like to increace the height of the passesnger seat in my 75 connie SE. The seats are electric - but only the drivers seat has height adjustment.

I plan to make up some 25mm spacers to fit under the seat mounting rails and then obtain some fixing bolts 25mm longer than existing.

Has anyone tried this - and are there any problems that you would anticipate ?

Why not try sourcing a LHD electric drivers seat, then both seats could be electrically adjusted to the right height:shrug:

Height adjustable passenger seats are extremely rare, myself and others have been after one for a long time, best bet is probably a drivers seat from a left hooker. Someone in France could make a good living selling second hand seats.

I have done the same mod ,
no probems what so ever just make sure there is a boss
on either end of the spacer

You could use spacers,or a stack of washers between the bottom of the seat rails and the body of the car,and use longer bolts.

Penny washers as they spread the load.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I need height adjustable seats, just a permanent lift to make it a little easier for my wife to get in and out.

Looking at the fixing bolts this afternoon I am going to need some with a similar flat head so the seat can move backwards and forwards over the top of them when fitted - just 30mm longer. Does anyone know where I might be able to get some from?

You should be able to get them from any good hardware or Motor Factors. You need at least an 8.8 or preferably a 10.9 strength bolt.

Try Screwfix or Toolstation, they both have a good range.
