Owned for the past year, royal blue (i think) 75 cdt con auto. Have made a few alterations since I got her, namely the ZT hairpins, ZT rear spoiler and a Synergy box.

That is a very nice looking motor ali355. The upgrades look fab. Is that a black badge on the front of the grill in place of the Rover one?

ragitty 29th December 2007 15:52

Lovely colour, so just to keep the kandyman happy another blue car :Santa3:

I have to put my hands up for that gaffe. Was spraying the silver innards of the grille in black, because I didnt like the way the silver plastic looked against the rest of the car when I got some over spray on the badge. I only realised after the paint had dried. So I thought the easiest way to fix it would be to spray the whole of the badge black.

ragitty 29th December 2007 17:21

The spoiler looks fantastic hmmmmmmmmmm have to get one.:Santa3:

Thanks guys. I was just leaning towards the "D" plate myself, but your comments make me lean that little bit further. As for the lights, it looks like the jury will be out on that one for a while yet. Cheershttp://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ons/icon14.gif.

Not too far away then! In fact I was often taken to the beach there as a kid - the Bournemouth Riviera ;)

Hey wee man - No, that pic was taken on the sunny isle of bute!! Right next to my car was a beautiful big beach (which I considered driving onto cos it was deserted and the sand was quite compact (but I didn't want to risk it)), the sun was shining, the water was WARM, my geography isn't great but I think it's technically the atlantic ocean we were paddling in, as opposed to the clyde. Fabulous. That was last July.

Alas i cannot get a wooden handbrake cover in the right colour - i did e mail the e bay company who have sold walnut ones and they said they had some light oak ones somewhere, but despite several e mails since no reply so i have given up - if someone knows any different please let me know.

You cannot get the other wooden extras such as electric window switch covers etc either so changing to walnut seems the only option and would then need to change the wheel.

Duotone 15th January 2008 18:29

Here you go Rob..

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...r/P7270590.jpg

You could go down the same road as myself and change all the wood for Burr Walnut..

It's the steering wheel that is the most difficult to find..

Dave T

trebor 15th January 2008 19:19

Cheers Dave, I will look out for a battery cover and if i can ever get a steering wheel at a reasonable price would consider swopping to walnut as i had that in my previous conny

Yours looks like Walnut to me , so you can get the added wooden bits when available to buy.

Yes they are. Got them off E.Bay listed as French spec, I will see if I have the part number around but I know it's on a sticker on the inside rim of the wheel.

THESE WHEELS WERE ONLY AVALABLE FROM ROVER IN FRANCE
THEY WERE NEVER AVALABLE FROM ROVER IN THE UK

Just glad it worked. I didnt pay too much attention to the photoshopping as it was only for the tiny image on my Avatar. But its not too bad to show the world. Its just amazing what you can do in very poor lighting conditions with a phone and a £45 peice of software !!

When I get chance, I'll have a crack at something a bit more pro looking with a £150 camera and a bit more time.

That link took me to a picture of the Eiffel Tower (??????)

tourerfogey 8th February 2008 22:22

Only joking ;)

It was a pic of the Statue of Liberty.....I mean 75 Tourer :)

Simon 8th February 2008 22:23

Kevin, I think you may have clicked on the "Insert Hyperlink" button rather than the "Insert Image" button when you created that post.

Edit your own post and change the ... parts to ... instead (omitting the spaces and putting your image location inbetween the two).

Hope that helps :)

Work to do:

If I can find one fit the larger spoiler

That will be it as I like the car as standard.

I think the silver and/or woven stainless works well on the darker colours. Did yours have the plastic central grille originally, or just the mesh?

Hi Eddy,

Where abouts are you ?

Update your profile with your car and location :)

I got mine of EBay about 2 years ago, EBay is still the best place to get them cheap.

Mine had exactly what you see - wire 'fence' type mesh - just sprayed it silver along with the spotlamp surrounds and then added the extra chrome trim along the bottom of the spoiler and around the centre grille opening.

She looks good fella, my "Honey" needs a wash etc...Yesterday me and a mate were loading the trailer with horse muck, tailgate was open as we were listening to the Villa/ Arsenal match and my mate Tibo sent a shovel full right into the load space. He is a Gooner " even though he is French" however this was before Villa were 1 goal up. It chuffing stank and so did the the horse muck lol.

Cheers
Tony

Rammie 2nd March 2008 20:06

Impressive paint job on the back of the Sunbeam I suppose, if you like that sort of thing, - but you would have thought they'd have got the easiest part of the job right and got the stripes straight!

What a collection!! Wonderful. Is the Coupe Nightfire Red Jules?

Jules 12th March 2008 19:58

Yes Colin Nightfire
Only had 32K on when we sold.
It went up to Scotland.
I've mentioned before that the 800 Coupes were beautifully made(far more quality control than the saloons & fastbacks.

Used to love the old big 800's................until the 75 came out of course:D

i am sure i read that the 800 coupes were handbuilt on a seperate line for quality reasons. although i could be mistaken!!

Jules 12th March 2008 22:34

Yes I read each Coupe was built to order.;)

My old 220SDi was Nightfire, as is my dad's 600. Lovely colour!
I almost had a BRG 820 Fastback once but SWMBO said it was too long and she wouldn't be able to maneouvre it in parking situations. I can't remember what I ended up with at the time.:(

WeeMan 13th March 2008 11:46

 800's were lovely!, I remember phoning a garage in Rutherglen (about an hour away) to say I was coming up, got there and it was sat outside, lovely white saloon with alloys, leather...the works!, went inside to see sales guy only to be told....it's just been sold!, ended up with a Granada :sissy:

Bad luck, but it could have been a helluva lot worse than a Granada.;)

6 year old MGZT 190's are worth more in bits then as whole cars.........if fuel and VED increases carry on, this will become more common.....

If that was a similar age Triumph Dolomite shell there would be masses of rust holes!!
Looks a very clean shell David

Just thought David.......... can you take some shots of the Plenum area and other Nooks we can't normally see???

GERFIX 14th March 2008 03:58

It is such a shame to see a car in it's final form like this with no damage or rust. The big question is, is the "break" going to realise your recouping more than selling it as a whole?;)

Even considering the amount of work involved in breaking it?

And tell me Greeners, was there actually anything wrong with the car before you tore it apart?

Greeners 14th March 2008 14:51

Nothing wrong with it, it drove beautifully, but if you start adding up the cost of a set of belts, clutch and a few other jobs that were coming up, plus the huge rise in fuel, the economics just don't make sense.

Trust me, if you ask Les or Kevin at SMC it wasn't taken lightly.......

And it comes to bits very easily........
