Sill repair - Tom Hobbs

Chatting with Tom Hobbs this evening, he is now fabricating jacking points to go alongside his sill repair sections.

The picture is a test piece, the finished article will be made from 1.6mm steel.

Thanks for the email address Andy.
Tom has certainly got plenty of recommendations from previous owners who have availed of his service.
I fear I might have to call upon him sometime in the future.🙄

Hi Andy.
I tried the link it doe's not seem to be working ? is Tom or will he be working on our cars in near future do you know.

Steve, the link worked ok for me. I think Tom is and will still do our cars as it's money coming in for him, also because of the time and effort he's put in to make the repair panels and now will make the jacking points. I seem to recall that he had rebuild the jacking point on Scott's tourer .
The only trouble is Tom is so good that you may have contact him very early for a booking as he's very busy because he's so good and his services are in demand.

He certainly a talented and dedicated craftsman who takes a real pride in his work.

Link works for me, just tried it.

Yes Thomas is a busy man that's why he made the sill sections available to buy so that people could weld their own or get their local chap to do them. I bought five pairs of sill sections, one for myself and then for some others of our local Facebook group who wanted one.

Thomas mentioned the jacking points to me some time back, nice to see they'll be available as a whole item. My welding is no-where near his standard and I think I'd be happier replacing the whole item if needed.

Doesn't say who owned the car pictured, Trikey? Must be the worst I've seen on the forum but in very capable hands.

Keep well
