TV's in cars.. I was just wondering.....
what happens when we switch over to digital? are those sets in cars easy to convert? I know some modern cars (like my mates Range Rover) have dual tuners fitted (a good job as we don't get digital until 2012)
I was thinking of buying an old Jaguar to play with and it has all the toys including a TV, and I was not sure if its an easy thing to sort out. |
For the Hi Line range of our cars it is easy to get a digital tuner.
Either the Correct BMW straight swap one, but mega Pounds, or an aftermarket one which can be viewed through the AV channel on TV. |
the only problem being the 18 element high gain aerial on a 10 ft mast being required to receive any sort of freeview picture:D

I know it's a case of personal preferance, but I wouldn't really want cross dressers in my car. :laughing2:

I have no problem at present picking up the FreeView Digital signal in a lot of areas, in fact in Some parts of Wales it seems the only way to get a picture, a Sky dish would be better though. :D We are switched early next year and Some Holiday Parks have already switched off the Analogue signal from there transmitted site systems. |
TVs in cars should be banned. Full stop.

Its handy and I use the teletext & Interactive news quite abit now. Keeps the Grandkids quite, well thats more the DVD Player. |
The one in the Jag I am looking at will only work when the car is in park, or if it is turned towards the passenger side so as the driver can not see it. Personally it would be for DVD use mainly on long journeys (to keep the nephews and nieces quiet) or boring waits in car parks, also I would be tempted to use it as a screen for a reversing camera like the mates Lexus has, and he has even put another camera inside very like the ones the police use (and some insurance companies) not unlike this:
