New MG Concept Cars - CS and Icon
Hello all, I was just perusing the new MG website, and found a couple of interesting cars!
I'm not a fan of the 'soft roader' 4x4 look, but it's interesting none the less. Behold, the MG CS - http://mg.co.uk/vehicles/concept-cars/mg-cs/ Another SUV they've released as a concept is the Icon - see here: http://mg.co.uk/vehicles/mg-icon-concept/ What do you guys think? As much as I'm all for the new MGs, I'll stick to wanting a '6 at some point in the future I think. :) |
i really quite like the CS, and if all the other 'crossovers' on the road today are anything to go by, i think it will sell quite well.
As for the icon, i'm very much on the fence. I love the MGB inspiration, but I think it will only really appeal to those as a homage to the MGB. |
I think the front of the Icon looks a lot like the new Mini! If I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of either car. AFAIK MG were never known for people carriers or SUVs.

I think the CS looks the nuts.
It is perfect for todays market so I really hope they get it out soon. Couple of facts I gleamed from MG at the Thruxton BTCC - MG CS: - 2WD and 4WD variant - MG only (no Roewe version) - It is not going to be a rebadged Ssangyong. - Full size clay 3D printer model is currently in the MG design studio at Longbridge and it is very much like the concept apparently. - Currently, it is not expected to land until 2017 in the UK. - it's going to be a major focus of the brand and priced below the 6. |
The CS . . . . I think he must have had a photo of the Range Rover Evoque on his desk.
Icon . . . . no, no, no! That's in the same ugly league as the Nissan Juke! The front looks ok but it all goes to buggry from the doors back. |
