EGR bypass kit - which one?
Thinking of fitting an EGR bypass kit. The stainless steel ones seem to be well thought of here and there are numerous sellers on Ebay (not to mention DMGRS here). Most of the advice I've found here and elsewhere relates to sellers no longer selling on Ebay.
Seems there's these options: DMGRS - £31.49. http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/p...aces-wav000160 (doesn't seem to come with gasket, jubilee clip, bolts etc) Magic_Parts_UK £34.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-M...-/141143689530 Magic_Parts_UK £38.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-M...-/141211562280 (not sure what the difference between the above 2 are except the more expensive one looks better made) myldanautodesignltd £39.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FULL-STAIN...-/161226288994 x8rltd £39.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-M...-/321546070802 So, who would have thought it, quite a choice. Anyone got any experience of these sellers and their products? Thanks :} |
There was a guy on here selling them in the North East for around £25.00 iirc, get in touch with RPWC, im pretty sur Richard can point you in the right direction.

I got the one from myldanautodesignltd, Everything fitted fine, I think they all do what they say, I just liked the look of the polished stainless version.

Just pull the vacuum pipe off.... same effect and no outlay..
|
You shouldn't need a large seal on the part that mates to the manifold as the manifold already has it's own O Ring present - you'd only need a seal there if the bypass was poorly made and as such didn't seal well.
I exclude those items to keep cost down, but if it's something people would want I'd of course consider adding them. Quick note - although my PayPal sometimes shows as Magical Solutions, Magic Parts aren't related to me in any way. I remember one customer wouldn't believe me, and started complaining about them to me! :D |

If you sell the car or have issues at mot just pop the pipe back on... |
I got the one from DMGRS, simple and quick to change, clean airflow and not a lot of money, pull and block the vac pipe if you are skint as said.

Thanks everyone for your help. Think I'll 'do it properly' and fit a bypass rather than just disconnect the vacuum pipe. Is the original O-ring likely to be sufficient, or should I get one with a gasket?
