Another Ztt bites the dust - probably

Hi All

Looking at the Bay, as you do when trying to find a cheap Ztt and came across a great one.

It all looked so good, described as good cond with current MOT till 2019, yeah, body work fine, good colour, interior looked great, even the driver seat bolster was in one piece (LOL) and best of all 190 manual, so has that lovely KV6, ideal.

But no, destined for the big scrap man in the sky me thinks.

The problem? Well the reg number matches the engine being KV06, so yup reg Aug 06 which means its the full fat £540 VED per year, oh dear.

If it were not for that I’d buy it tommorrow (today!!) at the current price of £350 with ZERO bids.

Maybe someone will save it but…….

Shame.

Lists lots of things wrong that are supposed to be "easy fixes", so why not fix them before selling? MoT until 2019 so maybe only 6 days.....

Could have cleaned it out before photos and clearly likes to park by ear.

Slightly more than a parking scuff on the rear bumper...

not to mention the nearly flat driver's front tyre.

Might be "easy fixes" (in which case why hasn't he done them?) but by the time you've costed up the time and money for the repairs to the bumper and other bits you could probably buy a good example for the same money.

MOT history a bit chequered with failures

The VED on it's own wouldn't put me off if it was the right car for me, but it would need to be top notch and no one I needed to spend a lot of money to out right.

I know it's Christmas, but you chaps are just not demanding enough for the starting price of £350.

I would want a fully valeted V8 in immaculate condition and a year's VED included for the price.

Oh, not forgetting the customary tin of quality streets that will be expected to be thrown in by the seller.

mot runs out in May, Poor mot history with lots of fails but not "serious" fails. worst I felt was 2012, bald tyres

£350 + £540 = £890

£540 + spread over 12 months = £45 a month

If it's a mechanically sorted car, then what's the problem?

It looks fairly average to me, not something that appeals personally.

Nice colour, but fairly rough and looks uncared for :xmas-smiley-008:

Hi All

Not really a comment about the car itself, looks ok nothing to great but more the VED.

I just cannot imagine paying £540 a years for this when under current rules you could ahve a 2017 5.0 V8 Ford Mustang for £140.

More a comment about the unfairness and fact that it may well lead to another perfectly usable car being scrapped for no other reason.

Cheers

If a potential buyer can afford a 2017 Mustang my advice would be to buy one over a KV6 ZT-T :D

But that is the plan, get rid of older supposedly higher polluting cars and replace them with new low polluting cars, the fact that the energy taken to make a new car equals about 80,000 miles in the old car seems to get forgotten and of course they are getting the VAT and all the other taxes on a new car as well as keeping people in jobs making them.
