For Ornithologists
Must have too much free time on my hands, there is a Rookery behind my street,or they may be crows (crowery). There are about 2 to 3 hundred birds,but there is only 10 nests. Question is why don't they all build nests. Question 2. The birds not in nest but perched on branches overnight,why don't they fall off when they go to sleep.:}

Cant answer question one, maybe they steal nests? like magpies? or perhaps space, male birds looking for food while mother prepares to/and lays the eggs? Question two though. Practice ;) |
That's why they are collectively called 'a murder..' And it explains why they congregate around nests....
Just remembered; they belong to the Corvid family. Scary or what. |
