Headlight height
I can not find out what is the highest a headlight can be fitted to a car/ Range Rover. I was sitting in my 75, when a Range Rover pulled up beside me, and the headlights were just about level with my eyes. No wonder you get blinded by these higher than normal headlights, never mind those with the terrible LED lights. Surely there is a legal height that headlights can be fitted. Does anyone know please?

If I've scanned it right the figure you're looking for is 1200mm - or 4 feet in old money.
Since a 75 is a little over 1400mm high it's no wonder that they blind us :eek: :duh:. |

I was looking at the bit about dipped beam headlights:

Whatever it is, it's at roughly head height when driving a normal car :duh: |
Thats exactly how I read it.It is about those cars with the led lights went through a test to see if the lights are focused to high. I wonder how many people have had accidents because they have been blinded by incorrectly focused headlights.

I thought I'd been flashed by a speed camera a while ago.
It was actually the battle tank behind with it's ludicrously bright LED's that was flashing a driver pulling out of a side road :eek: :duh:. And when they come towards you with full beam on...... Maybe 6V standard bulbs should make a come back? At least when you can't see when you're going it slows you down. And we all know that speed kills..... |

Wasn't a 125cc D1 Bantam was it?
Passed my bike test on one of those and have a vague memory that that's how the headlight was (wasn't :D:D). |
