Stuck trying to loosen clutch reservoir cap

Hi all any hints other than hitting it with a hammer and screwdriver for releasing this cap ?

A long screwdriver, straight edge Rob, against one of the ridges on side of cap and tap with a hammer is about the only way, if its tight.

Get a leather belt and put it round it.
They work in undoing oil filters.

Thought about a strap wrench but was told it's tight to get it round

I had to use a long flat bladed screwdriver and a small hammer ,,works wonders.;)

Likewise with the hammer and long large screwdriver.

There is a bit of give in the insulation behind it, and it is possible to actually get your hand round it - if you suffer from cramp, you're going to know it.

That is what worked for me, but my plan B was a Jubilee clip around the lid, to get a better grip. Its not that its that tight, rather that its an awkward angle to get your hand round it where it is and it was tightened by hand on the bench.

I know it's in a stoopid place but, could you not get water pump pliers on it? You know, the type with the adjustable jaws

Screw a jubilee clip unto the lid, use the screw part to wedge a screwdriver into for leverage.
