ZT-T tail lights

Like many others, both my tail lights are in a dilapidated state. The plastic lenses are fine but they do not fix securely to the body shell. Both sides are listed by Rimmers as being on back order and available at the end of March but from inside information I understand there is no manufacturer willing to take this on at present. Does anyone have a reasonable pair that I could buy please? I will be going to PoL in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Bob

They do occasionally come up on e bay - sometimes brand new.

Thank you. I do look at ebay regularly and will continue to do so. I may even resort to buying some rough ones (but with good lenses) and designing a modification.

Bizzy Lizzy on E Bay aka Jack was selling rear cluster tourer repair kits - see link - try and message him to see if he has any.

The fixing screws on the inboard side of the lights do not screw into anything as the clips are broken/missing. On the offside light the outboard side will not stay secured to the body and I have to push the light back about half an inch into place after each run. Souls believe I need new lights but I have thought about getting some second hand units (Rimmers no longer have new ones) and designing a repair fix.

I understand this is a common problem!

Hi Bob.
First you need to fix the broken brackets on the lights so you can then add some new screws/ bolts to hold the lights in place, you may have to also replace the body fixings.

The ones listed above work to a fashion, because you first need to remove the old fixings which is no mean feat in it self, usually by pushing them into the abyss never to found again.

Frankly the club needs to out pressure on likes of trimmers to find the tooling and get them remade. Even if they where £400 a pair new it would and will save many write offs in the coming years.
