Strange Feel on Brake Pedal
Hi
My 75 seems to have a rather strange brake problem. When travelling slowly (walking pace) and applying the footbrake, I can feel a vibration or kick back through the pedal most times but not every time. It does not do this at all at speeds higher than walking pace and the brake efficiency is fine at all speeds. Anyone have any ideas what might cause this? boater |
Most likely cause is a warped brake disc, the severity of the pulsing depends on how bad the warp is

If it feels like the ABS kicking in even at these low speeds their have been previous posts re this. One of the possibles is a crack in one of the reluctor rings or a suspect/dirty sensor(s) which read the rings.

I had similar symptoms the other year and it transpired that the rear discs had shed slithers of 'rusty metal' from the disc face, such resulting in a varying disc thickness !

My 45 did this, both reluctor rings were cracked, if they are the same size for a 75, I have one sat doing nothing that you can buy for a very small fee? £6 posted?

Thanks all for the ideas - will do some checking in a couple of weeks time. Am away on holiday tomorrow (lucky fella!!)
Will also check if the rings are the same as the 45 - thanks for the offer. boater |
