Wd 40.

I have watched a You Tube video of someone using WD 40 on his car windows, is this advisable?. I've never heard of it before. Thanks. John.

To what end John? I've seen it used to temporarily hide paintwork scratches. Lee.

No point John, better products for glass out there, or even old newspaper soaked in vinegar:eek::cool:

I was given a tip by a mechanic some years back that if you have fabric (furry) window seals, open the window fully, give the seal a good wipe with a damp cloth (or if dry, a soft brush) and then spray the seal surface with WD40 - never done it myself but maybe that's what you've seen.

Thanks everybody for the quick replies, the man was spraying WD 40 0n to his rear and side windows and polishing it off, as I said, I have never heard of it before. I'll give this one a miss. Thanks again, John.

According to the WD40 literature, there are 187 different tasks it can do. Clearly the short list

dont know about the window but my mate told me to use autosol metal polish on my headlamps as they were not the best and he said put a thin coat of wd40 on after you've finished . i thought what the hell as i already tried toothpaste with bi carb etc and when i had finished they dont look as if theres any glass in em there great wd40 also good for cleaning trainers, getting marks or chewing gum off carpets etc

WD 40 gets tar spots off the paintwork quite well.

It plays hell with seals that are made of rubber though. Sort of soaks in and makes them expand.

WD40 is much stronger and works harder than Chuck Norris.

The WD does stand for Water Displacement so there must be something in it.
