Pollen Filter

Hello everyone,

Hopefuly within the next couple of days i shall be giving my cars plenum drains their first rodding (in my ownership) i also have one of jules's plenum guards to fit at the same time, while doning that i am also going to change the pollen filter.
After doing a couple of searches on here i decided to get one of the carbon types that i managed to get online for £16.50 delivered, the filter arrived today and although it looks right it doesn't have a plastic frame or the tabs (which i assume clip it in) that i have seen in pictures in other posts how to's, the one i have has just a cardboard frame with a strip of foam going around it.
Will this be ok to use or will just fall out when i come around to fitting it?

Thanks
Lee

Dunno, never seen one with a cardboard frame...???

The only problem I can see is that if it gets wet it might disintegrate.

I got mine form here: http://www.doctorcarparts.co.uk/rove...len-filter.htm but through Amazon, and it had a plastic surround and fitted perfectly.

Ours went in the bin about a year ago.

No problems noticed, and that includes a 5500 mile run around Europe in the summer via the top of the Alps (down to 2 deg), Rome (up to 40 deg) and Hungary. :)

I think i'll send this one back and reorder from there.

The one i've got is made by UFI Filters, this is the spec from their web site http://www.ufi-aftermarket.com/catal...ltro=54.123.00
The picture is exactly how mine looks.

Thanks for link:}

Hi Lee
Does it have to be a carbon one if not get one of these i buy most my items from them quick delivery and great to deal with
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2705749834...84.m1438.l2649

I bought mine here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2705749834...84.m1439.l2649
although not carbon.

my Carbon one came from Ebay; best ones are Mahle or Mann. They are worth it for me at least as they do help with some of the aromas !

But all the ones I have had come with the plastic frame with securing clips

Not seen a refil option without a frame

I ordered this one:

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Ro...2d3b04c&000047

Should be carbon activated for the R75 according to its listing but when it arrived spot the problem:

I'm sure they'll sort me out with a replacement as they always give great service there. Probably time for a change looking at the old one. I thought someone had stuck a piece of old carpet down there when I saw it.

This is the one I got from DoctorCarParts 'via' Amazon:

It had the Plastic Surround and the Locating Tags. (Hard to see in photo as they are on the other side).
