FBH (Fuel Burning Heater) PCB Wanted

Just had a unit (brought on eBay a few weeks ago) back from Keith, who has tested it and he has told me that the PCB is knackered. So I am now looking for a working PCB so I can fit the unit to my car (When the garage finally get it going again).

Have you tried eBay.de?

I think these are as rare as the door finishers used to be ;). And as expensive if you can find one.

I was lucky that the PCB in my second-hand FBH was OK. The faulty part of mine was the glow plug/burner which Keith has now fixed.

Best of luck with the search.

Tony, good luck in your search- unfortunatley they are not a service part, can only be bought with a heat exchanger, and seem to be very sought after . also bear in mind if you get one off ebay its almost guaranteed not to be a rover unit.

Just noticed this on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:B:DBS:GB:1123

Its the same serial number as the faulty unit I brought a few weeks back, that Keith has tested and has the faulty PCB (ECU), I wonder if it has the same type of PCB as the Rover type?

Tony, the pinout on the 6 pin connector will possibly be different, and the firmware will be different( whether this means anything in practice will be debatable).

of course the other issue is how much they will go for, tyhe same guy is selling this one and one complete with water pump.

Ill stick my neck out and say this one will go for £80, the one with waterpump £100.

Hi Steve, thanks for the info, I don't mind spending another £100, but I don't want to be left with another FBH that is no good, I am waiting for a friends contact to come back to me to see if he can obtain the PCB (ECU) unit, but from what Keith has told me that are not available as a separate item.

just a thought, would it be worth breaking your unit for spares, and using the money to part fund a new heater from X part ( Ive put numbers here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...read.php?t=228)

Thanks again Steve, I have now spoken to my friends contact (CLIMATE CONTROL LTD T/A VEHVAC ) in Edenbridge Surrey and he has been more than helpful, he said if I drop off the unit to him, they have the proper test equipment for the Webasto units and will tell me what needs to be replaced and if it will be cost effective. He said at the worst it will mean replacing the main body which has the PCB (ECU) at a cost of £203.75 + VAT. I don't what to spend that sort of money, but at least I know I will end up with a working unit.

I had a look at an old parts price list I have and it shows the complete FBH assembly was only £252.01 + VAT.!!! I wonder how much they cost now.

They cost £329.12 plus the VAT from Rimmers.

Time to decide!! the chap who I brought the FBH from on eBay has offered to take the unit back and refund me £80.00 (to cover the listing fee and selling fee) now do I return the faulty un?it and wait for another one to come up or do I take the plunge and let the faulty unit repaired??

Does anyone know how often these come up on eBay ECT?

Or does anyone have one for sale as a complete unit, I have tried Keith , but he does not know if he wants to sell his testbed one at the mo.
