Internal Boot release

The boot release switch on my 75 has stopped working and just seems to be stuck. I can still open the boot with my key so no immediate problem.

Can anyone offer a solution please?

Clean the contacts behind it and spray a bit of contact cleaner on them 😎

internal boot release

Hi Guys
My boot release when pressed just makes clicking noises.
What is wrong and how do I fix it?
Thanks for your help

I guess it's not the switch making a noise and it's coming from the boot lid.

Sounds like the boot unit could do with a drop of lubrication as the solenoid appears to be working but something is sticking.

Not too bad to get at.---:}

If it sounds like rapid machine gun fire then you need to unscrew the boot support rubbers out a bit - they are situated either side of the boot lid.

I see that your car is 2001 Mick so probably has a key barrel in the boot lid. Does that work normally?

See above. Mick said it opens with the key.

Thanks Steve but that was Ray, the original poster. I was asking Mick Brownhill who posted later on and hasn't said whether his boot can be opened with the key. I await his reply with interest. :)
