Aircon compressor options?
Car in to get regassed this morning, but I have a strong suspicion the compressor is on the way out, as it whines a bit when on. Other pulleys etc have been checked, and it’s definitely the compressor.
I could really do without lashing out £540 on an OEM one from Rimmer’s, but am a bit cautious about getting a used one fitted, which might be as bad as the one I’ve got. Anybody got any recommendations please? Can you get good quality reconditioned ones? Thanks :D |
Note the manufacturer/model of the original and buy new from someone like Autodoc.
Don't forget to have the aircon reverse flushed and a new dryer after fitting a new compressor. |

Found one on eBay. Don't know if it's the right one? Cheap enough if the part numbers match

They do whine when short on refrigerant. See what it's like after the top up. (If it aint broke, don't fix it!) :)

If the A/C guy does his stuff properly he'll first check the existing charge and then follow an fault elimination procedure. |
