Major Service - How much should I expect to pay?

My 75 Connoisseur SE CDTi has been SORN for approximately 18 months however in the New Year I shall be using it on a daily basis.

Due to it’s extended ‘hibernation’ I’m planning on a major service:

Oil & filter change,
Fuel filter change,
Air filter change,
Cabin filter change,
Coolant change,
Brake fluid change,
Power steering fluid change.

The engine fan has also died and will need repairing/replacing.

Have I missed anything?

How much should I expect to pay and can anyone recommend a garage in the North West of England.

I would say £100 to £150 labour plus parts would be reasonable depending on the hourly rate of the person doing the work.

I would add PCV filter change, a brake operation check and clean + coat brake pipes/connectors in clear Waxoyl.

If it's been stored outdoors, then check and clean those plenums and drains; if it's been stored indoors, check and clean those plenums of the spiders and webs.

Check the springs to see if any have cracked/snapped.

PK Automotive in Wigan will sort you out no problem. Paul is an ex rover technician and also has a T-4.

A Rover/MG specialist near Preston www.signature-auto.co.uk unfortunately they charge £100 p.h. labour, but the mechanics are all ex- Rover specialists. If a jobs worth doing... its worth doing well.

Thanks for the replies. All sorted now, I’m having the service carried out in the new year by a member on here.

The 75 is stored indoors so is covered in dust and cobwebs.

I noticed yesterday the rear blind had died a death, I’m surprised it’s lasted so long.

Considering how long ago rover stopped trading it always surprises me how many ''ex-rover technicians'' there are still out there.

One of our local garages advertises themselves as rover specialists - yet they wrongly diagnosed my cdti as having HGF when it had nothing of the sort.

I'm sure all the ones mentioned here are legitimate - however, I'm always cynical when people claim they're rover trained.

A trader on here would always be my first choice too if it were possible.
