Help Identify Component Giving SRS Trouble Code

My SRS (airbag) remains on despite attending to all the usual reasons for this to occur.

My professional quality Snap On Diagnostic Scanner lists the fault as:
B1047 Right Hand ITS Circuit - Short Circuit

TOAF Tool lists the fault as:
9047 Ignition Circuit IC2 (ITS Front Right): Resistance too low

Any one able to tell me what ITS stands for? Can't find any reference to it in any OBDII list.

I believe the ITS part of the SRS system refers to those cars fitted with "curtain airbags" - an extra safety feature which I've never seen on any car I've worked on here in Sweden.

Good hunting

Inflatable Tubular Structure Terry.

They're the optional airbags mounted in the windscreen pillars and extending above the doors.

Thank you Vitesse and SD1too for that information.

That makes sense. My 2002 Australian market 2.5L V6 Connoisseur SE does indeed have the curtain airbags according to the badge on the B pillar. I believe this was a optional extra that was rarely fitted. This would explain why they never get a mention in any discussion about the reasons for the SRS (Airbag) light being lit. I just have to locate the connectors to see if they suffer the same poor connectivity issues as the underseat connectors and hope I can finally extinguish the warning light.

Any clues as to where the connectors would be?

I can give you more than a clue Terry! ;)
I've consulted RAVE's service procedures and the connector is where the fascia meets the windscreen pillar.

By the way, this is the "A" pillar. You mentioned the "B" pillar which has the front door striker mounted upon it. The other side of it with the rear door hinges attached is the "C" pillar. The combined structure is known as the "B-C" pillar. Somewhat confusing I know but that's how the nomenclature works.

Thank you for that. Because there is a badge labelled 'Airbag' let into the B pillar trim I thought the airbag was in there. Looking under the dash (after removing the light switch module) I can see what looks to be the airbag cartridge. It is gold in colour about 25mm diameter and extends upwards about 100mm toward the A pillar.

It has a green and yellow connector at the bottom with a red/white wire and a red/brown wire. I'd like to remove, clean and replace the connector plug but it's not obvious how to release it. I suspect there is some kind of latch that locks the connector in place. Any and all advice is appreciated.

All sorted. The latch holding the connector in place actually doubles as the shorting bar. Managed to remove it without breaking. Cleaned up the pins, reattached the connector, inserted the latch/shorting bar carefully then pushed it home making sure it clicked back into place.

Hooked up TOAF, cleared the '9047 Ignition Circuit IC2 (ITS Front Right): Resistance too low" error and SRS light extinguished.

Thanks for assistance.
