Fixing button on key

The rubber cover over the unlock button on my key fell apart and I could only use it by poking something into the remaining hole.

I could probably have found a replacement but that could have ended up either expensive or complicated, so I cut a new button from Plasticard out of my railway modelling box. It would have been nicer in black , but I only had white!

Creative solution!

New cases can be had from Ebay, cheap enough and easy to replace.

I too purchased a cheap replacement from eBay, easy solution.

I love it when people use lateral thinking for things like this! Make do and mend. :}

Got to be careful of the Ebay cases, some are in the cheap and nasty category. I've seen posts here about people having to modify the internals to get the PCB, chip etc to fit.

I have had three off the bay, and they are alright. The buttons are not so soft as the original ones but no problem.
