2002 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE CDTi – Copperleaf Red
No MOT
197,000 miles

I bought this car on 24.11.18 from a forum member. This was their advert:

In my ownership I’ve had the following done:

• New alternator December 2018
• New exhaust back box March 2019
• 160 ECU remap by marinabrian August 2019
• New rear brake pads and discs August 2019
• Nearside Rear Coil spring October 2019
• Rear brake calliper November 2019
• New battery September 2020

Now for sale as it’s failed its MOT and I’ve been offered an alternative car.

This is the MOT failure information:

Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):

• Parking (secondary brake) on a single line braking system has no recorded effort at a wheel both (1.3.1 (a) (ii))
• Parking brake efficiency less than 50% of the required value (1.4.2 (a) (ii))

Repair immediately (major defects):

• Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (3.5 (a))
• Offside Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect (4.1.2 (c))
• Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
• Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
• Nearside Rear Wheel bearing has excessive play (5.1.3 (a) (i))

Pictures were from earlier in the year when the car was much cleaner and since then I’ve scraped a bollard on the passenger side and there are some scuffs from this and also has been a transfer of yellow paint, but I’m sure this would buff out. Apart from that, bodywork is pretty decent for the age and mileage and car cleans up really well.

Car drives absolutely fine and engine is excellent, despite the mileage. Doesn’t smoke, is quiet and fuel economy is brilliant. I was driving the car daily up till when the MOT expired. With the remap it’s a pleasure to drive. No warning lights on the dashboard.

Car comes with a stack of paperwork and receipts totalling thousands spent on it. All electrics work (auto wipers, leather heated electric seats, rear blind, parking sensors, cruise control ect). Has a stereo with USB connectivity and a separate blue tooth unit fitted which I’ll leave in.

This is easily fixable for it’s MOT. I would have already had the work done had I not been offered an alternative car. Would be a shame if it was stripped for parts and scrapped.
