Rear window brake light removal, Rover 75 Saloon.

Got a dead wasp stuck inside the rear window brake light. I've removed the 2 screws , how do I remove the plastic covers?

i have never removed or fitted one, but i have read about them being a problem to reseat . the clips apparently can snap like carrots. have a search on the google search bar above and read a few posts, before you attempt to remove.

Mine was hanging down when I bought the car about a month ago. A spot of Screwfix 'Sticks Like Sh*t' glue round the edge, with penny washers under the nuts a s well (the plastic was brittle and broken), all is now well.

i think the posts i read were about opening them up to see why some of the lights were not functioning , or working. yours was a straight forward re-attatch. might look out for some screwfix adhesive next time, always handy.. ;)

Hi Alan.
Now you have removed the two cross screws.

You gently pull unclip the small panel.

Next remove the electric connector from it's clip.

Press in the connector tab and pull it apart.

Now undo the two 8-10mm nuts holding the light to the plates stuck to the rear window.

You can now lower the unit from the window.
