During lockdown I reckon that I have done a fortnight to the gallon !

planenut 22nd June 2020 22:04

What with the lockdown and the time off for that bit of paint tinkering, it's been off the road for four months?

As I cannot take it with me, I’ve decided to spend it. I can live with the 15mpg........................Oh! But the noise..............

Steamdrivenandy 11th October 2020 06:27

I know what you mean about the noise.

We recently moved house, to a mews of barn conversions. One of our neighbours has a son who runs a newish, bright orange (ugh!) Mustang. Just hearing it burble in and out of the garage area makes the hairs on your neck prickle.

I've not managed 1000miles yet but am already addicted to that right pedal...usually with the windows down! Daughter loves it but the wife is less impressed!!

Chap up the grove opposite has a nice red mustang. Love to hear that exhaust as he trundles up the grove. Then later I hear him give it a bit of wellie as he goes up the road. Disgusting row.

Nothing like a good burble.

It runs 11th October 2020 20:23

Early this year I was picking kids up from school
I had my back to the road .
I heard a huge rumble behind me and Mick the lollipop man had stopped the a car to let kids cross .
I instantly recognize the sound .
Turned round and a silver zt 280.
It trundled off shaking the school windows.
15 mpg well spent

I could get a cheap Aston Martin for what you have spent on bodily fluid for your car.
