Borrowed my father-in -laws Ford consul Cortina 1954 and passed my test first time in 1958. Passed my motorbike test in 1954 on a 1937 BSA 250 ohv. Three speed gear lever on the side of the petrol tank. ( Hand change. ) Girder forks and no rear suspension. Colvert.---:D |
After reading about all the interesting cars people passed in I feel mine may be a little underwhelming.

My Dad taught me , hill start on 2 planks of wood on pile of bricks. |

Learned in a pastel beige 1979 Mk1 Cavalier 1.9 GL, with brown vinyl roof, front spoiler and brown go faster stripes along the bottom of the doors. |

Ford Escort Mk1
Seems a long time ago now, but I really loved driving the car. It felt so smooth and fast, as any car would have done first time behind the wheel, although my first car was a Vauxhall Viva which also felt very smooth and fast! Passed first time when I was 17. I always put it down to being very courteous and stopping at a zebra crossing on my test:}!
