have the disc pads seized to the discs? If the handbrake has been left on have the shoes seized to the drum?

If the car moves it could just be a covering of rust on the discs that will clean off with use.

Have a good look at the front springs - one may have snapped and the end stuck into the tyre.

I’d agree with this!

I'd go with this if its got 9 months of rust on the discs.

I can see rust starting on mine in 24hrs if a damp/wet day.

A very good chance this has happened.

Bust drop links on the front wheels can make a horrendous grating noise when the steering is turned as well. I had this on my previous 75.

Can't be a desperate problem as OP posted this at 9 AM this morning !

And no replies to all the suggestions.

Welcome to the club Harvey. Sounds like one of three things all have been mentioned above. Screeching noise sounds like handbrake being left on since parking it up. The rust has got going and has tried to weld the brake pads to the drum.
