1999 S Reg Rover 75 For Sale - But It Needs Work

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...cleRegLetter=M

MARTIN GREEN AND ANDY (YELLOW PERIL) VIEWED THIS CAR TODAY WITH A VIEW TO BUYING IT. ITS DORCHESTER RED WITH PERSONAL LINE INTERIOR.

BUT ITS A DOG. (WATER IN BOOT, HEAD GASKET GONE, EX SMOKERS CAR. MARTIN THINKS HE WILL TAKE £700 WHICH IS VERY LITTLE MONEY FOR ONE OF ABOUT 20 SURVIVING S PLATES. MARTIN ALSO THINKS THE CAR WILL BE CRUSHED IF NO ONE BUYS IT SOON. SO WHY WAIT YOU LOT SAVE AN S REG!!!

BTW IT'S REAL NO. PLATE IS S542 AOX!!!

Getting the head gasket sorted can cost up to £1.700 so the cost of the repairs will be way more than the car is worth without having to buy it beforehand!.

I know you want to save the early ones, but most people would much rather have a newer car in better condition.. And personaly I am one of them.

I didnt think the KV6 had a head gasket issue as much as the 1.8.

Is it cause this is an early one. I know the 800's had loads of head gasket issues on the V6.

It's one thing to save a car but after we have saved it what happens next? Are we looking at museum pieces or a runaround. Where are you going to keep the vehicles if they are saved?
Just wondering!

The rover 75 mentioned by Rabbatt rover " IS THE LAST DORCHESTER RED IN COUNTRY" ON THE PRE-LAUNCH S REGISTRATION.

If we cannot economically return it to the road, then lets save the car for the museum.

MG

If this car goes there are no more dorchetser red ones, the car has satnav, TV etc fully loaded, be we cannot continue at this scrapping rate, there will be nothing left of the first reg stuff.

If scrapping go's on at the rate it is doing it will make the value of our cars go up ! Supply and Demand:confused:

The dealer states its not gone, but just a low water reserve on the day!!!:unlucky:

I believe that to be hog wash...However we have only 20/25 S reg cars left to buy and so the hunt still is on to have one good example within the club...hopefully Longbridge on the 14/8/2009 will reveal some kind of aladins cave.

But i do hope the very last dorchetser red S plater does not get scrapped.
