2nd Hearse purchased today
 

This afternoon I drove to West Sussex to see a Rover 75 hearse for sell , which I have purchased to add to our fleet. This now makes the fleet 2 Hearse, 2 6 door limousines, 1 LWB Vanden Plas , V6 Tourer and still my V8 Tourer.

They look great Rog. We have a varied fleet of hearses at work ( CE Coop. We have Jags, Mercs, Volvos and Australian Fords (re-badged to the converter). My favourite drive are the Jags but if there were Rovers..................................... no contest! I have to say that I prefer my drive home in my Rover every time.

Working on bank holiday with an idea for the Hearse front bumper using parts of a Roewe grill

The nicest front is the Mk1 Rover. The Mg is a step down, and the huge fronts are totally un Rover like and ugly.... innit. :icon_rolleyes:

The Hearse finally passed its MOT in the summer. So I transferred its new registration PEL 100 then it went to be resprayed then came back to me to finish off. I sent the aluminium roof rails of to be chromed they only came back before Christmas along with the other Hearse's set

I found that the coffin deck Formica was cracked. First I tried vinyl covering but it just bubbled. So I ended up taking the old Formica and laying new sideboards and new Formica decking

In this picture you can see our two 6 doors Limousines in their garage , PLJ 100 (on the right) is the one that was on the Club Stand at the NEC in 2014 and TLJ 100 is its identical twin sister.

Wow! That is some work. Well done Roger.

She looks great and plenty of room for the bearers. Nice and high with good road presence too, unlike the Volvo hearses that the Coop bought for me just before I retired! They were very low and were mistaken for estate cars, so folks just ignored them. The rear bearer seats were so tight that the interiors were scuffed and torn within the first week of using them. The transport manager did not take kindly to my "honest" appraisal of them! ;) The platform could be raised and lowered but there was a weight limit which was way too low for current market demands! Thanks to Rick our facelift looking Hearse PEL now has halo headlights DLR which changes orange when indicate or hazard lights.
