wireless channel change?
Channel 6 is a mite busy around here so want to change it - now I know how to bring up the router in my browser to change channel but what settings do I need to change on my pc's and how do I do that?

No need Mike, change the channel on the router, scan for networks on the PC and it'll probably automatically connect.
What makes you think ch6 is busy in your area? I'm not sure you'll gain anything from changing channels to be honest :) |
Hi rich,
~Suggestion from a mate. In the last 2 days I have had real problems picking up the network in the house on my notebook. Never had any issues before - getting desperate now  If I site the notebook by the router then usually OK but otherwise!¬ Our other pc gets it fine - is in a fixed place. |
Hmmm.
Would that not suggest a problem with the laptop? If possible, turn off mixed mode and stick with 'g'? Either way, it certainly won't hurt to change the channels :) |

In your wireless settings, where the channel info is, you might have an option to specify which speed the wireless side of things run at.
It'll probably be 'b' or 'g' or 'mixed', it's there for backwards compatibility more than anything, set it to 'g' if all your wireless machines will run at 54mbps :) |
