Go Pods

Anyone had any experience of owning one of these

I fancy buying a small caravan ( go pod type of thing) Having never towed a trailer I'm not afraid of towing but am scared stiff of blocking up a town centre or country lane or something by having no experience of reversing with a trailer or caravan.

I know that they're tiny but not wishing to go the full hit on a full size caravan wondered if anyone had ever had one of these or similar and how they found the experience.

Or was it just too claustrophobic?

full size caravan or Go Pod you could still find yourself having to reverse but in 20 years of having a caravan I have never been in the situation where an oncoming vehicle could not pass. Been tight but still able to pass.
Bear in mind what size lorries go through town centres, bigger then a caravan.
I would say try one out see how you get on but also try a proper 2 berth caravan.

Reversing a caravan is a real art and as arrogant as I am, I'd not want to reverse along a country lane.

No experience of them, but did have a quick look at a 2016 model at the weekend, just to see what it was like. Have you seen 1 yet? From what I saw, there's very little storage, a coolbox rather than a fridge, and no toilet. I think swift do a smallish go pod type of thing but can't remember what it's called, and I think they're a fair bit more expensive.

My apologies for delay in reply.

No I haven't seen one in the flesh but might pop up to the caravan and mobile home show at the NEC in Brum next month for a look round.

If I was tempted I'd have to go with the extra awning and side tent option to create a much larger area outside the confines of the Go-Pod, or other micro caravan.

Trailer or caravan reversing is ok once you have had a bit of practice . I always used to try to remember that its the cars rear wheels that steer the caravan ....maybe a difficult concept ,but its true .
And because of a longer wheel base, the bigger the caravan or trailer, the easier it is to reverse. :D
