Saloon rear seats into a Tourer

Has anyone ever done this? I know they are very different to each other but can saloon seats be engineered into a tourer? I wouldn't mind if they couldn't be folded. Is it possible to change the leather from the saloon seat to a donor tourer seat? I would really appreciate some advice with this.

In short "NO" However the base from memory would virtually slot straight in. Consider the idea that the saloon seat backreast is a one piece affair opposed to the tourer 60/40 split design and houses many differences in terms of hinge and locking mechanicals. Sorry to be fairly blunt about this, but hopefully saves you getting too enthusiastic about such idea.

I have a tourer with a really shabby interior and an aubergine saloon interior which would look great in the tourer. I have a spare tourer back seat and I would like to get the aubergine leather covers modified and fitted. Maybe by a professional upholsterer.
Of course if this is going to be ridiculously expensive and not look "factory " then I will put the aubergine interior in my saloon. I can get a complete set of Ash grey tourer seats locally for my tourer.
On this forum there are many people who have a massive knowledge of these lovely old motors. I am hoping someone can help me create a really special car. My tourer has been painted in Duotone royal blue and blackberry. Admittedly it is not a genuine factory Duotone but whoever did it ( and I think it was a forum member!) did a really good job. It looks fantastic and was probably inspired by the V8 tourer shown in the many colours post.
Mechanically and externally it's a great car. It would look amazing with an aubergine interior.
