Do I need to get tracking checked

Having replaced the front sub frame and in the next few days will be replacing the rear sub frame do I need to get the tracking checked?

The trailing arms will hopefully stay in situ and the steering track rods were not adjusted.

I've not done that amount of work (yet! ;)) but my gut feeling is that there's so much been undone, moved about and done up again that the chances are that something will be out of alignment somewhere along the line.

So, I would just to be on the safe side.

Looking forward to thoughts form those who've been there and done that.

Andy.

If the consensus of advise is that I do, then I will remove the trailing arm brackets and shot blast and paint those too.

All the parts you have changed will have their own production tolerances, so yes, get four wheel alignment done. That's why its adjustable.

I marked up the trailing arm position to keep in the ballpark when doing the same - saves wearing the tyres out on the way to get the tracking done.

Never bothered on mine though as I didn't touch the subframe, the Trackrite gauge reading was good, and so far the tyre wear has been even.

A lot of places will only charge you if it needs adjusting and in my experience it always does.

I recently had to remove a track rod end on my van to replace the rubber and even though I fitted in exactly same place as it came off it still needed a turn to get the tracking correct.
