Handsfree telephone Installations
Hello All
I have searched previous threads and posts and have been unable to find some information I am looking for! Does anyone have any experience of using or installing the MGRover 'Bluetooth Kit' Part Number: XP0000833ACA, and/or the MGRover 'Microphone for handsfree phone' Part Number: XVC100040 ? I understand these parts are available for purchase via former Rover Dealers and I am therefore considering an installation, but only after some friendly suggestions !! Any assistance would be welcomed  . Regards Rosebank |

hands free
A lot of members on this forum including myself have fitted a parrott 3100 or 3200 Blue tooth hands free kit.
These are very easy to fit and are cheeper than the MG Rover kit. It depends what radio you have fitted. The factory fitted telephone was only sold with the Symphony radio. A Symphony radio or any MG Rover radio with ISO connectors are a strightforward fitting project. Do a search for blue tooth and there is plenty of help there. Dave T |
Thanks Dave. :)

The original microphone that fits into the roof console was designed only for the phone kit that was put in the car at launch. iirc SMC had one of these microphones for sale for a v. long time.
The point is that the phone kit dates from 1998 and was very specific to the car, factory built in. I doubt that either the kit or the microphone that was part of it, would be much use to you. Also I'm not sure where you'd get a microphone from now as the kit it was part of is definitely out of use and stock - on its own the mic really won't help and will not simply plug into the Symphony. The later bluetooth kit is more possible but as said above there are much simpler and cheaper options that will do the job just as well. hth Mike |
And Mike. :)
