the Dizzle not so smooth

My AutoCdti seems not quite as smooth at tickover, a little but lumpy , bit ok when driving.

Had a bit of spare time today so had a peek with TOAF at the Injectors before doing a leak back test and eventually fitting the new Bosch MAF .

Got these approx figures for the Injector Correction.

At tick over around 750 rpm

Cyl 1... +0.97.
Cyl 2....-1.45
Cyl 3....-1.67
Cyl 4....+1.97

And at around 2000 rpm

Cyl 1... +1.47.
Cyl 2....-2.00
Cyl 3....-2.40
Cyl 4....+3.65

Anything to be concerned about ??

Cylinder 4 seems a bit suspect. Had mine on the T4 at one of our meets and was advised that the reading was a bit high around that high figure. As Jon said, put a dose of injector cleaner in and give it a thrashing.

Took my own advice and bought some injector cleaner for mine yesterday.---:D

Just in case it needs it .---;)

I use injector cleaner every other tank full in both the diesel and the petrol.

As your car is a diesel and you only had about 40 miles of diesel in it you are taking a chance that it might stop altogether.

The general advice with a diesel is to NEVER let your tank fall below a quarter full. --If the in-tank pump is dead you might be starting, with your rough tick over, to be experiencing the start of the under-bonnet pump failing. ---

I know my car after 17 years, :D,. It's pumps are all ok and often gets down to low levels ..
It will actually do over 20 miles after the range reads zero.

Got to 25 mile's and filled up .
Don't panic Mr Mannering ..

You're a brave man Chris and if I was handing out medals you'd get the top one for fuel pump bravery.---( When I think about the many many tales of woe about low fuel levels and dry burnt out pumps.-----:bowdown::bowdown:
