I'm just about to buy the car it's been stood for months tge guy told me that he tried to start it to move it on a fully charged battery but it just made a clicking sound all the time... Could the starter motor be sticking do u think?
Are they hard to get to from under the car??
The car is 150 miles away from my place and i pick it up at the weekend. Then I'll set to work to bring it back to life..

If the headlights flash at the same time as trying to start, it's a flat battery. Try cleaning the connectors on the starter too, just in case.

Wot the other OP's said or it could be the starter solenoid is goosed - sometimes a good tap with a light hammer could free it off and you might then get it started to get you home. New parts available on the 'tinternet for around £20 and a fiddly but easy DIY fix once you get access to the starter motor (removal and bench repair).
