stone chip / painting after sill repair

I’m don’t really know much about bodywork repairs and pairing, so….
What’s the general consensus on painting after a sill repair?
- apply stonechip to the lower part of sill, and then paint over to match colour of car.
- apply stonechip to lower part of sill, and then paint black, like Cowley cars.
- does stone chip come in various car colours??
(It won’t be me doing the work, but I’d just like to know what works best.😃)

Apply the stonechip then spray body colour, stonechip usually come in black, white, beige or grey!

Make sure that it is paintable and won't react with the topcoat. Paintable seam sealer works.😉

Many years ago now (35 +) I had some paint work done on a Cortina. The bodyshop aplied the body colour first, then a layer of clear stone chip over the top. It looked great, and protected the colour as well.

No idea if you can still get clear stone chip though
