Tempted
Theres a Rover 75 Saloon CDT auto Contemporary, in Tempest grey in Birmingham which does not seem to be used much, and looks in great condition, keeping an eye on it, im sure its surplus always loved Tempest Grey R75 models and never owned one. Parked on the driveway 2005 05 model.
however its not for sale....... feel a bit rude about tapping at the door asking if its for sale, whats your thoughts? |
Go for it, no harm in asking.
I have heard of a few cases like this where the car just ends up going for scrap. |

The worst they can say is no

I recon I missed out on a 1948 pre-production Land Rover sitting on a drive in Edgbaston Birmingham in the late 1960's because I hadn't the confidence to chase it up . I understand it eventually went for scrap & I kick myself every time I think of it .
Knock on the door, they can only say no. |
yes its worth a go....

Never ask.........never get. A mantra my father gave me in my youth. It has stood me in good stead..

As we say in the North East , '' Shy bairns get nowt ! '' :icon_lol:
Even if it's not for sale ,he might be pleased that someone admires his car ! |
I missed a lovely Rover 75 tourer and Rover 800 both in my village. One was fully working and used daily and the other needed a thermostat. Gutted when the 800 was scrapped and the 75 was part exchanged for £600! Just go and ask.

I say go for it!
When i was based in Naples some years ago, I discovered a beautiful '77 Pontiac firebird V8 sat beside a garage next to our local vehicle registration office. i would pass it a few times every week and would have loved to buy it. When i eventually plucked up the courage to talk to the garage owner, he said he wished I had spoken to him months before. He had just literally sold it to a local Italian and the paperwork was causing him lots of headaches!! I regretted my inaction ever since :( |
